There are...

...days until Jason Avant will plop his ass onto a couch to watch the commencement of the 2015 Michigan football season; he is quite excited.

He was pretty damn good and consistent.

Avant is one of Michigan's all-time top 10 outside receivers (maybe even top 8).

Don't forget, Braylonfest didn't happen without some key catches in that game by Jason Avant.

Grant Perry is Avant 2.0. In terms of players that give you that safe secure feeling Avant is right up there with Kovacs. When the ball went his way you knew he was coming down with it.

The forgotten Wolverine running back goes off tackle against Ohio ...

Michigan Tailback Chris Howard (8) Runs For A Big Gain.

Chris Howard---who can forget how dependable he was in the Michigan backfield in that 1997 National Championship season?

I'm with you. Of all the catches I have seen live on TV, this one is number five.

  1. Walker's one handed grab vs. Iowa
  2. ALL THE BRAYLON vs. MSU
  3. Charles Woodson INT in the Rose Bowl
  4. Manningham (PSU)
  5. Avant one handed grab vs. Northwestern

The weird part is that the Avant grab is during a blow out. How it has held up over the Roundtree, Gallon, Hemmingway, Mathews,  etc. game winning or saving TDs really speaks to how awesome it was.

Agreed. Woodson's interception vs MSU is by far my favorite.

When I posted that video of Avant, I was only thinking of WR catches but now that I think about the catches by any position, we've had some great ones over the years. Ahh, Michigan football memories.

Of all the Avant pictures, I was surprised that the one in my avatar didn't make the cut. This will be his tenth year in the NFL. Pretty impressive for a receiver who has never put up huge numbers. Edwards, Breaston, and Manningham have all put up one or two huge pro seasons, but none of them have had the longevity due to injuries and consistency. Aside from Toomer, I can't think of another Michigan WR who stuck around in the NFL so long. Couple TEs, though.

Wow, I can't believe we're only 8 days away. Win or lose this first game, it will lead to many great wins for us under HARBAUGH! Go Blue!
