TB the God. Too bad ol' Lloyd felt pressure to play Henson a certain amount of the time, Tom could have even been better here. I feel sorry for the NFL when he is let out the gate this fall, old Tommy is gonna be on a mission.

You are right.  Tom's place in NFL HoF and in the record books with his 4 Super Bowls is locked up.  However, I would LOVE to see him win #5 this year and see Roger talk with him on the podium during the presentation of the trophy.

And after yesterday's release of the Cris Carter video where he ENCOURAGES players to have a fall guy for when they break the law, I absolutley hate Roger even more as he has proven to not only have no common sense, but absolutely no moral compass.  FIRE ROGER!!!

Goodell is pure scum. If Tom wins #5 and becomes the undisputable GOAT (he already is in my mind, but Bradshaw doesn't have a ring on his thumb) he should just berate Goodell on stage and then retire. "F--k you Rog, lick deez hall of fame nuts. TB12 is retiring! [drops mic]"

He'd go from greatest qb ever to greatest human ever.

But this is a different NFL from when Montana, Young and Marino played.  I'm not saying he isn't the GOAT.  But you gotta remember that you can't breathe on receivers anymore.  That's why I love the argument.  What would the 49ers be like if Brady was playing with that collection of talent that is far superior to what he's had in New England?  How would Montana do with a less heralded group of players that change consistently?

Yeah and you already mentioned my main point in that argument. There is far more parody in the NFL nowadays than in the 70's, 80's, and 90's and Brady has won the same amount of rings (and more playoff games) with far less talent. So maybe the more restricting PI/Hitting rules level that playing field, but I think that is the most extreme outcome: that Brady and Montana were playing on equal terms. Even with the way the game is played today I think that the skill players Brady has won with are so far below the caliber of those Montana had that Brady winning 4 and going to 6 easily puts him on top of Montana for GOAT status. And the ring is king, I won't consider anyone else for greatest QB ever unless they have won as much (and I think it's clear that Tom and Joe are better quarterbacks than the human body they had to put on the field when Pittsburgh's all-time defenses were on the sidelines).

Wow. It's getting so close. I'm reading so many college footall books this next week to keep my mind off the Michigan game. It's not going to help, but it's worth a try.
