I believe that Ty Isaac will be wearing #32 on offense, so hopefully he can channel this #32 and distribute the power equally amongst the RB corps. That would make for some big smiles in Ann Arbor certainly.

Glad that that the wait is not much longer for football though. I should start working on the "end of OT Season" post, although we'll still have a couple weeks yet.

I watched the whole clip, and was reminded of how Michigan achieved...well, that with TOM EFFIN' BRADY as the starting QB.
First, inexplicable losses to grotesquely out-manned teams led to a 9 win Michigan team playing in the Hawaii Bowl against a Hawaii squad that was every bit as out of their league against Michigan as any MAC cupcake on Michigan's regular schedule.
Second, the whole offense was A-train left, A-train right, A-train up the middle, and A-train breather (when anyone else got the ball). I love me my Anthony Thomas, but for the love of God, how about you go past the second page of your play book?!
Between that and wasting snaps on offense for that future first round hall of famer, Drew Henson, TOM EFFIN' BRADY mid-way through the 4th quarter was 9 of 10 for less than 150 yards, and that was with Tai Streets open on every play. No wonder Brady was still available in the 6th round of the draft. The most savage criticism I can make about Lloyd Carr is his squandering of four years of eligibility of TOM EFFIN' BRADY!
All that said, somehow those Michigan teams of that era managed to consistently win about 10 games a season and actually out-class their Bowl opponents that badly when they stumbled into those kind of Bowl games.
I'm genuinely torn. On the one hand, those really were the good old days and they included the one Michigan National Championship of my lifetime (and I'm 53). On the other hand, GOD'S BLOOD! Open up the effin' play book and throw down the effin' field when the other team puts 22 men in the box (and you have TOM EFFIN' BRADY at QB)! Anyone remember the Alamo Bowl when they lost to Texas A&M by consistently feeding Wheatley the ball while the WRs had single coverage all game, AND the one time they threw deep it went for a TD?
Like I say, I'm torn. I think Lloyd Carr is a fine gentleman who always reflected credit on the University, and in retrospect, his coaching record for all its warts and frustrations looks better and better. On the other hand, how much of that is Michigan owning Earl Cooper and Ohio State while Lloyd was the coach, contrasted with OSU under Tressel and Meyer owning Michigan ever since? (And how much of that was good luck during the former followed by bad luck during the latter, and to the extent it was more than luck, doesn't Lloyd get credit for that?)
Bah, the heckler with it! Bring on football and just win baby!

Anyone know what Mr Kovacs is doing these days? I would love to see him get into coaching and maybe even eventually end up back at Michigan in some capacity.

I was driving home last night, realized we're <5 weeks from the start of the season and started singing the Victors.

I'm so geeked out about the season starting I suffered through the SMU/Rutgers rerun on ESPNU last night just to watch a college game. It just made me hungrier. C'mon season! GO BLUE!

Hijack Alert!  (because it isn't worth a thread and this is the top thread on the board)

Every time I read any headline with a reference to the Buffalo Bill's running back Fred Jackson my instinctive reaction is: WFT!? ... followed but laughter which is slightly audible.

And then I laugh at myself for falling for it again...
