Theory: Great Loss?
Just a theory, but almost the best way to end a season that poor. The bad taste in the mouth can hopefully be a motivator...
Not saying I didnt want the win, but let's be honest withourselves that this team does not deserve a statement to be proud of after that season.

I think it was a horrible, stinging, painful, and cruel way to finish the season so in that respect it is not nice. BUT. What an outstanding game they played. If Turner misses (which the odds were 5/6 he does, even with the lax D), we would hail it as one of the great UM wins of the young century. It was a phenomenal effort. And I suppose they can feel at least a bit of satisfaction with leaving such a great effort out on the floor their last time.
But ouch.
Don't know about that. These guys can hit wide open shots from anywhere. Remember Lebron's near half-court shot last year?
I'd say definitely closer to 50/50
1/6 might be low. But if he can't shoot 3s 50/50 it's hard to say a shot on the run from 10 extra feet is 50/50. I can't give him better than 25% odds of hitting it. Sadly irrelevant...
Good as he is, Evan Turner is not LeBron James.
And a 35-40 footer, on the run, is not a 50/50 shot for anyone -- even LeBron.
It was a lucky shot. Because it's Turner, and because he's great, there's less luck involved than there would be if anyone else took that shot.
But it was still damn lucky.

I see what you're saying. I just can't believe it. I'm still stunned. When was the last time Michigan b-ball, and football both ended their seasons with a loss to OSU?

The only time a bad taste in your mouth is a motivator is when you are bottom bunk in a jail cell and need protection.
We are Michigan. There are never good losses.

The real take home of this season is... well it sucked. The thing to do is: first, hate the damn loss. Why would we as fans take something away (from a season of disappointments) from a huge disappointment like this?
The team deserved everything it got- even if it were to somehow get this win. They played hard all game and its not in any of our power to say they don't deserve a big win. THEY make their own destiny, we just get to sit and watch.
No amount of ridicule is enough for a post like this. I'm usually nice but you've got to be out of your God damned gourd.
Their is no such thing as a great loss, that game ripped my heart out at the end.
I'd rather lose at the buzzer than get knocked out early like we did at MSU, but no loss is good.
I'm damn tired of settling for moral victories. Honestly, no.
Hopefully it can be. Manny or Zach need to push this team in the off season to get better though.
I do suspect Manny stays because he only earned all big ten third team this year.
