We get upset when we play someone that is not good because of a variety of reasons, including the fact that it doesnt prepare us for MSU, Ohio, Bowl games. Now we get upset when we schedule a top matchup because we were beat by the best team in the country and defending national champs?

What is your proposal than? Play MAC schools and beat our chests while we are beating them by 4 touchdowns? Come on man. We scored more points than LSU did in both games against Alabama. We scored about a much as an SEC team did against Alabama. We were not the better team and we showed fight.

I don't know who's hair is better, John Stamos circa Full House or Denard

You would?  Why?  What is to gain from scheduling great teams?  If you run the table in the Big Ten, you're probably going to get a shot at the title game regardless of who you play at the beginning of the year.

IIRC, this game was scheduled back when RR was struggling, but still considered a top shelf coach, who would be starting his 5th year and would have seniors that were HIS guys and a competitive, if not dominant team. They didn't draw this shit up last tuesday.

Whyy?  So we can lose by three touchdowns the last game of the season instead of the first?  I would hope that this experience helps the team realize where they are at, what they need to improve, and move in that direction.  If you are a legitimate title contender it might make sense to shirk away from playing the best in your non-conference schedule, but I think its obvious that we aren't there yet.  So how does the loss really hurt us?  You really though this team was going 12-0?  Even after tonight you think they have a decent shot at running the table?

Well, if you win, then there's a lot to gain.  Can you imagine the insanity on the board if we would have won? Talk about a season and career-defining win for the Michigan football program. Recruiting, media hype, and all kinds of hooplah. Yes, it sucks we lost. And it's difficult to see any benefits of this game after such a rough defeat, but there are some major potential rewards for scheduling games like these.

I want to play this type of high competition every year. I don't want to be Wisconsin; the Rose Bowl isn't good enough. We, as fans, should want national championships. With this schedule, we challenged ourselves and tested our abilities. So what-we failed. Next time, we won't. National championships matter-Rose Bowls are second place
