Thanks Coaching Staff

It's unbelievable how our staff rolled over and died.  I am sick to my stomach right now.  This game is completely on the coaches.  They didn't put their players in a position to win this football game.  And don't delete this thread, beacuse Brady Hoke will be the first one to tell you the same thing I just did.

Any time you turn the ball over 4 times, you can not blame that on the coaches. You can make an argument for the two fourth down conversions but those four were not Borges's fault. Borges no doubt ha some play calls during this game that made you mad, but also some that made the score this close.

And our defense held them to 6 points. Losing sucks, but there is plenty of blame to go around.

the coaching staff really limited the options on offense.  It seemed as though they lost a little faith in Denard's ability to securely carry the ball in his left hand after the fumble. I came into this game expecting the play book to be wide open, and insted it reminded me of Bill Bellichik running Eric Metcalf up the middle over and over again in the early 90's for the Browns.

I am so flummoxed, it's hard to get sentences out right now, but I'd rather talk about something else more important that what I percieve to be a lackluster performance by the coaching staff.

I'd like to thank all the players, and especially the Seniors for all their hard work this season.  They handled themselves like true Michigan Men at all times on and off the field, and make me proud to don the Maize and Blue, especially living here in a suburb of Columbus.  Not to get all mushy or anything, but I'm sure I am one of many who would like to heap effusive amounts of praise upon Denard, truly one of the greatest football players to ever suit up for Michigan. More importantly, he is an even better person off the field than on, by all accounts. Thank you Denard for four of the most amazing football seasons I have ever experienced.

I wish the team the best of luck in their bowl preparation. Denard deserves to go out with a W.

Borges is the reason Michigan lost the game today.  Mattison did fine.  Michigan still is a couple of years away from having a roster full of NFL type talent on defense.  When they do, the defense will stop the spread and any other type of offense.  Holding OSU to 26 points was a good job.

But, for the love of God, why did Borges continue to run Denard at QB once everyone in the stadium knew he couldn't throw the fucking ball?  All OSU would do is tee off on the run once they saw Denard at QB since they didn't respect the pass.   How many yards did he gain in the 2nd half?  Two?  Three?  Stupid.  The plays that everyone feared from OSU were Devin at QB and Denard on the field somewhere else.  Then, with a little creativity, Michigan would have had an unstoppable offense with true run and pass threats.  Instead Borges telegraphed every fucking play with his choice of personnel.  Stupid.

And don't run the ball up the fucking middle.  This line wasn't good enough to create holes against OSU's interior.  That was clear early on.  Idiot.

the play action that was working earlier on isn't going to keep working if you won't at least occasionally give the hand-off, but the RB and interior OL are, to be honest, just not good.  We should have had Denard at RB, but I can see why one might (wrongly) think he shouldn't be in at RB.  Namely, because he can't block for shit so putting him out there is big risk, since if Devin gets smoked we have the Russell Bellomy banana arm fiesta.  Also, Denard even with a good arm is a fumbler.  Borges went back to a passing heavy attack when it was crunch time and Devin threw up a floater that got picked.    I still think the play calling was shit in the second half, especially running up the middle rather than trying to get to the edge, but it wasn't as bad as people are claiming.  I wouldn't cry he got fired, but he almost certainly won't and I don't know who would replace him.
