Thank you Denard!

How many people said Denard couldn't cut it in the NFL?

Proud of you, your loyalty, and finally getting a chance at continued success at a higher level. GO BLUE!

last year when he was about to have his first NFL touchdown and he fumbled I said that he just doesn't have the grip to make it in the NFL.

I am glad I was wrong...

I've been waiting for someone to start a thread. I really have to thank Denard as I picked him up last week for my fantasy team. I had no decent RB's other than Gio  so Denard is in my starting lineup for the forseeable future. I am so happy for the guy to be proving people wrong again.

I'm looking forward to the day Denard has a rushing, receiving, and passing TD in a single game.

Seriously could not be happier for him. Denard is easily my all-time favorite Michigan player player, not just for what he did on the field, but also because of what a great person he is.

When he gave his speech at the Big Ten conference prior to the 2012 season, he talked about growing up in a large, low income family in which he was embarrassed by how modestly they lived, so he preferred to have in-home recruiting visits from coaches at his grandparents' house. Subsequently, he mentioned how driven he is to work hard and succeed in order to better provide for his family. This in and of itself is so commendable, making it that much greater to see him having success in the NFL.

What's extremely impressive, also, is how well Denard is doing given the fact that he had such little familiarity with playing as a running back. Obviously, he didn't get many reps at the position as a rookie when he was designated an "offensive weapon." In addition, being shuffled from receiver to kick returner to wildcat QB didn't enable him the benefit of focusing his development on a single role. So in terms of meaningful practice and reps as an RB, last season is pretty much moot, with the nerve damage also limiting him. Really, the only experience DRob had as a back, prior to this year, came from his last few college games.

That said, I honestly think the three consecutive, highly productive performances are a strong sign that Denard has the potential to develop into one of the better rushers in the league.

Personally, I was actually pretty surprised by how many people doubted his chances of success as a pro. By no means am I some football guru that can reasonably assess which guys will do well in the NFL, but watching Denard at Michigan, he just seemed too fast, too athletic to not be effective in some role. I mean, this notion of mine was reaffirmed every time I'd watch (for the sake of nostalgia) the clip of his first snap at QB against WMU.

It'd be easy to keep rambling on here about what makes Denard such a special guy. However, one thing I'll say again is that, despite all the pain we endured during the '08-'10 seasons, we should all be very thankful for RichRod bringing Denard to Michigan.

If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend you try and use a few other outlets as well to capture a wider breadth of Michigan Football fans, rather than just MGoBlog users. I imagine most the people around here would be on the same page when it comes to your survey questions.

By all means though, make a post with your results when finished! Would be interesting to see. Good luck with the project.

Dave Brandon fired, Denard with a TD and 100+ all  pirpose yards. Plus, Tom Brady comes out and destroys the Broncos D. And Michigan won!

some love for Tom Brady today.  Brady again outduels Peyton Manning, I'd love to see Tom Terrific get another ring before it's all over with.  I just wish he had another sure-handed receiver or two.

He's throwing the ball as well as ever, even in windy weather today he was on more than off. I only watched about half that game and saw at least 3 drops of catchable balls.

Denard Robinson is a OW- offensive weapon. Lions missed out big on him. He returns kicks, returns punts, runs the ball, can throw it, great wildcat player, and can play Wr also. What cant he do?

Let's be honest.  Denard has serious ball security issues long before that nerve damage injury his senior year.  He carried the ball like a QB, not a RB.   I thought for sure that would be a problem for him in the NFL.  I'm thrilled he seems to have overcome it and it currently thriving.  If anyone deserves success, it's him.  He's obviously worked very hard for it.
