Thank the wives, girlfriends, partners, etc.

Right now, my wife is transporting my sister to the airport.  My sis came in a week ago from Arizona.  I had the gang over today for the game and my wife performed "damage control" for the 4 kids under the age of 6 that were at my house while my buddies and I watched the game.  Now she's driving my sister to Detroit Metro because my drunk ass cannot.  I can't be the only dude out there who got hooked up by his wife, girlfriend, partner, whatever. I am going to give her a great foot rub when the kiddo goes to bed.

This game sucked.  No question.  But let's not make our significant others regret being supportive in these trying times.

Next year, we will all be going to Indianpolis to watch our boys secure a spot in Pasadena (at worst).   Let's act like good people tonight and take care of those who take care of us.

I'm doing my best to internalize my bad mood and not take it out on my fiancé over petty little things that in a rational world would not bother me.

I am a highly functioning alcoholic.  I never post on this board unless I double/triple check my work.  My daughter watched the first 25 minutes of "The Return of Nanny Mcphee"  or "Nanny Mcphee Returns, the Return of Nanny McPhee" or whatever it's called while I typed up my initial post.  You can question anything I do/post on this board, and that's cool.  But I assure you, I am not sober right now.

Agreed. I feel like I'm dealing pretty well with this given I sort of expected to lose, but my girlfriend just offered to drive to dinner at a bar with fantastic beers and burgers. She thinks she's going to pay which is cute, but it's the gesture that means most.

Patience, folks. We're not going to win them all. Remember where we were two years ago. We're absolutely on the way up.

wife is more pissed than I am.  It's a great thing when your wife yells "Why the fuck are they running Smith again!?" and storms out of the room.

Losing sucks but it's sure great to have a beautiful wife to pick me right back up. Right now I'm having a wonderful evening with my lovely wife. Life goes on. OSU will still be a dirty program and we're still Michigan "leaders and the best."

I was lucky in that I drove my guest to the airport before the game.  I'm still cold sober.  The game really sucked, but what makes me really want to drink are all the snowflake threads.

My wife now knows that Al Borges struggles with thinking. She's actually turned on that I'm smarter than someone being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars more than me

Had a ticket, then wifey had big kerfuffle which required me to stay home, then she insisted I go at halftime. So I went, which is when things started going south for us, and so clearly my attendance is the reason. Thus, I'm not sure if I should be thankful or unhappy that wifey let me go to the game.

I'd like to thank my husband for watching the whole game when I just can't bring myself to, yelling play-by-play into the next room where I am sitting, and getting pissed off at the same things we're getting pissed off at, even though he didn't go to Michigan. And also for explaining plays to me that I don't understand...yet.

Here's to the Fine Ladies...

My next one down will be dedicated in honor of the good women, who day in and day out serve our beaten souls. When our Team's offense abandons the successful plans of the first half for something obviously not going in the second, and is consistent with getting it going, there are few women who will still serve their man.

This is for the good ladies.

Cheers! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

My wife gave birth two days ago, and I got to watch most of The Game. Didn't hurt that the little dude was asleep the whole time, but still. She has put up with a lot of my sporting hijinx, and rarely complains.

Forget Monkey Rodeo. ALWAYS THE WOMENS.

This is a good post! I guess the only good thing about Ohio winning is that there won't be a few hundred thousand abused wives in the state of Ohio tomorrow morning.

I should thank my wife and kids profusely for tolerating my Michigan fandom and my swings throughout games  each season. I was distraught inside today, but I was determined not to make it ruin the family's day, so as a "thank you", I took the family to see "Lights Before Christmas" at the Toledo Zoo. Yes, I was determined enough to thank them that I crossed the border to entertain the family. I still wore the Michigan gear that I wore during the game and my wife even put the kids in theirs. It even  helped my mood as well. Forever and always, Go Blue!
