What a dumb ass he was.  I loved reading Bo's story (from Bo's Lasting Lessons) about recruting him in high school.  He shows up with an assistant coach at George's family home and Jeffo is dressed like a slob.  He's slouching on his couch and demands his mother to bring him a can of pop, and Bo's basically seen enough by that point.  He thanks them politely and leaves w/o offering a scholly.

After watching his highlights, he seems to be a decent prospect at the QB position. He makes good decisions, has good touch and accuracy, and he has a little speed. He definitely can run the zone read but we might phase that out of our new offense. The fact that he is intelligent is also a plus. We need a body at the QB position and I would definitely take him in this class if he willing to consider us.

Really not the same.  I agree that Les is a better recruiter than coach, but he's won a lot of games in a very tough conference.  He's beaten top teams like Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas over multiple years.  He's also been very good in bowl games.

Zook, on the other hand, has had one good year in C-U, that ended with getting embarassed in the Rose Bowl.  Other than that, Zook has missed a bowl a few times, barely made a bowl a few times, and been embarassed by middle of the road Big Ten teams.  He has very, very few big wins.

His clock management gaffes and throw caution to the wind 4th down gambles (including the "holder-tosses-it-over-his-head-to-the-175 lb-kicker" plays) get a lot of attention, but hard to argue with his track record.  The guy can coach. Saban got it going there, and Miles has done a pretty good job with stewardship. 2011 could be big for them.

I must say, I despise Danny Hope more than any other Big Ten coach outside of Dantonio. Between Dantonio's lack of punishment for his gang of convicts and Hope's ridiculous (and incorrect) vendetta against RR, they top my list. It's funny, I never thought I'd even have an opinion about a Purdue coach after growing up most of my life knowing Joe Tiller.

Tressel, while I hate OSU, I have a decent amount of respect for because of his accomplishments.

Hope and Dantonio = hypocritical douches.

Hope seems to forget after a year or two that 9/10 times we'd crush them in three quarters and use the rest of the game to get backups some playing time. Can't wait to see the look on his face in a few months when Denard gets benched halfway through the third quarter because it isn't worth risking him with a 25+ point lead.

Thanks for the link.  That was really impressive.  Nice touch on his passing, very decisive and quick when running the ball.  Seems like a perfect fit for this class.

Anyone know about the competition level he was facing in those videos?

Looking on Rivals I noticed that his school produced quite a few prospects this year including an ATH that is going to Oklahoma and a LB that's going to TCU. It's always wonderful to have solid relationships with Texas high schools.

Also at the 1:00 mark in these highlights, The WR broke a couple tackles and had a nice spin move. I wonder what his deal is even though we aren't taking a WR in this class.

Looks like a guy who been shown regional interest, but not a lot more than that.  Most of the schools that have offered him are smaller i.e. the Tulsa's and UTEP's of the world.  He did get an offer from Oklahoma State though.  And he runs a 4.5  40yd.

Too bad WR's are not on the map this year.

He has pretty good footwork for a supposidly "dual threat" QB.  He looks more like a QB that can run than some of the running backs who can occasionally throw that are usually in the "dual threat" category.  I like his size, too.  Was he on SDSU radar or is he someone that was on UofM's radar with RR but wasn't interested?
