I keep hoping he can put on enough weight to be effective at DE...though I suppose there is the cance that he ends up as outside LB.

Okay, so I took the photo and measured from the eyes to the bottom edge of the frame. Mostly because they are wearing hats so the eyes was my best reference point. Counting the pixels, and using Shane's height as 6'3", I get Terry Richardson to be about 5'6 1/2". Obviously not that accurate with room for error but close enough that I'd say his height is pretty accurately portrayed by the scouts.

My numbers are as follows:

Shane 314 pixels = 75 inches

Terry 279 pixels = X

X = 66.64 inches = 5' 6.6"

You're forgetting that the picture doesn't include their legs, which would make the pixel-height ratio conversions much smaller, so each pixel is less than the variable you included in your calculations.

Basically, Terry is much taller than your calculations.

Not sure if you're the one that negged my comment, but I'm still trying to grasp why someone would moderate this as flamebait.  I took a scientific approach (unbiased) to answer the OP's questions if Terry Richardson was taller than advertised based on the picture.  My conclusion was that he appears to be that he was close to his listed 5'8" size and not towards 5'10" like the OP was suggesting.

I'm kind of glad points don't count at the moment, b/c this board is quick to judge and will downvote anything that doesn't agree with what they want to hear.  I took a scientific approach using real measurements out of a provided picture to determine something and get negged for it.

The issue I have would be with the posture, as at least to me, looks like niether Morris (go pilots) or Richardson are standing up straight. So that should add an inch or so to the measurements. With that my guess would be T-Rich is somewhere between 68 and 70 inches and Morris is likely 74 by the looks of the picture.

Does Rivals list him at 5.6? that seems really short!

I wasn't saying he's 5'6" in real life.  Based on my analysis that's what I got, but as people stated before the error margin is extremely high based on factors such as where their feet are set, forehead height, slouching.  Obviously there's a huge margin of error, but I was trying to provide a rough estimate.  All I can conclude wsa that Terry appears to be closer to 5'8" than 5'10".

That doesn't work unless you are guessing where their feet are.  Which makes the error bar on your estimate high enough to be a waste of time.

Ok - you fellas are certified loonies. And since I voluntarily discourse with you, that makes me a loony too. Couldn't the world have ended yesterday and spared me such embarrassment? Seriously though, despite the fact that I really don't have a vote in this exact debate, this is easily something foolish enough for me to take part in. Thank you, fellow boarders, for giving goofuses like me somewhere to talk without being ostracized. (too much)

That is one of the largest high school sophmores I think I have ever seen! Can you imagine what he's going to look like by the time he actually shows up on campus? I bet that kid can sling it....
