Terrelle Pryor to start at QB for the Raiders
Title says it all. But this is the day we've all been waiting for. This weekend the Raiders will play the San Diego Chargers with Terrelle Pryor at the helm.

horrible - he couldn't do any worse. I am a little shocked at how bad Matt Leinart has become. I saw him play in high school and thought he would be a superstar.
December 28th, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
mean the return of TPryor to the MGoBoard.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:46 PM ^
His posts after Tressel was fired were superb.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:06 PM ^
the day we've ALL been waiting for, that's for sure. I can finally sleep at night.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:07 PM ^
#scraps.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:09 PM ^
i can't imagine how this is possible, but good for him I guess.
Big Ten QBs have been cashing in the second half of this season. Henne for a while now, Cousins for a couple solid weeks, and this weekend we'll see Hoyer and Pryor. Add this to Brady, Wilson and Brees, and the NFL has quote a few Big Ten QBs getting starts this year. Am I missing anyone? Has Orton started at all this year?
December 28th, 2012 at 5:34 PM ^
Well, it's possible because Carson Palmer got injured and Matt Leinart is just that bad. Oh yeah, and they're playing for nothing so they might as well use the game for evaluation purposes.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:37 PM ^
I understand how Carson Palmer got injured, but I can't imagine how Pryor is even comparable to Leinart of how he's on a pro roster to begin with.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:49 PM ^
I wouldn't have drafted him, but then again I would haven't Jamarcus Russell either. On the other hand, Pryor was a third round pick in the supplemental draft and Russell was the first overall choice.
According to Wikipedia Pryor was Al Davis' last draft choice.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:53 PM ^
Just because you drafted him doesn't mean you should play him.
Russell was totally different. He was a great college QB who looked to have all of the tools to be a good pro, he just stopped trying at one point. Pryor is just an athlete, but has never looked like a great QB.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:02 PM ^
What do they have to lose? If he stinks they can put Leinart in for the second half. It's not like Leinart has shown anything in the NFL, either.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:06 PM ^
Look, I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad decision by the Raiders. I'm just saying that there are a lot of things that have to happen for a guy like Terrell Pryor to start for an NFL team, and I'm surprised that they all have.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
To be honest, I thought Pryor would be a backup tight end in Oakland or a second-string quarterback in Saskatchewan. It should be interesting to see how he does, in a Tim Tebow/Ryan Leaf sort of way.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:21 PM ^
I totally agree.
December 29th, 2012 at 1:38 AM ^
The Chargers had 11 sacks against the Jets.
I hope they have at least 12 this game, a bakers dozen or more would be great too, TP is short for toilet paper.
December 29th, 2012 at 7:40 AM ^
Wait, where is former Hesiman winner Troy Smith on your list?
Oh, that's right...bwahahahaha.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:11 PM ^
I guess I was so excited I didn't even know I was waiting for this.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:22 PM ^
This, along with the Lionesque performance of the Raiders this year is really making it hard for me to be a Raider fan. I can't root for Leinart or Pryor under any circumstances.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:27 PM ^
Oh, so this is the year that crossed the line?
December 28th, 2012 at 6:32 PM ^
Surprisingly yes, never thought they would get worse after Al Davis.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:29 PM ^
So when was the last time it was considered good to be a Raiders fan?
December 28th, 2012 at 6:33 PM ^
Well I had to pick between the Lions and the Raiders, so it was a really hard choice.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:35 PM ^
What were your circumstances that those were your options?
December 28th, 2012 at 6:47 PM ^
Grew up in West Michigan, but moved to Oakland 7 years ago. Can't watch the Lions out here, though you can't really watch the Raiders either with all the blackouts.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:51 PM ^
Then that shouldn't be that tough of a choice. I also grew up in West Michigan and moved out here 6 years ago, but I've never considered switching my loyalties. Lions, Wings, Pistons, TIgers all the way. You don't switch who you cheer for just because you move.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:48 PM ^
Well I can see why you would stick with the Lions as LA doesn't have a local NFL team, but seriously, having and NFL, MLB and NBA team withing a 10 minute BART ride (as well as niners and giants accross the bridge) its hard not to go to games and get into the local teams. Last time I went to a Lions game they played at the Silverdome.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:52 PM ^
I see your point about football (although I could be a Chargers fan) but I've been to a number of Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers and Kings games and I'm still a fan of my team. I know lots of people who have lived in CA for 20+ years and they're still a fan of the team where they're from. You don't switch your loyalty just because it's inconvenient.
December 28th, 2012 at 9:03 PM ^
"And you landed on 'McLovin'?"
"Yeah, it was between that and Mohammed."
"Why the fuck would it be between that and Mohammed? Why didn't you just pick a common name?"
"Mohammed is the most common name on Earth, read a fucking book."
December 28th, 2012 at 5:28 PM ^
The next Rich Gannon, I'm sure.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:41 PM ^
Didn't know he was in the league.
December 28th, 2012 at 5:51 PM ^
Dude deserves a second chance.
As a wise man once said,
"Not everybody's the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I think that people need a second chance, and I've always looked up to [him], and I always will."
December 28th, 2012 at 6:02 PM ^
Damn, beat me too the punch.
December 28th, 2012 at 8:01 PM ^
throws picks...whatever.
December 28th, 2012 at 8:15 PM ^
who is looking forward to recycling this quote in new and snarky ways?
December 29th, 2012 at 1:36 PM ^
If there was ever a quote that called for this response, that was the one:
December 28th, 2012 at 6:00 PM ^
After the chargers kill him, does he stick up for the chargers, citing that"everybody's not a perfect person in the world, everybody kills people, murders people."
December 28th, 2012 at 6:12 PM ^
If Ohio blogs did this when Henne was tabbed starter a few weeks back.
December 28th, 2012 at 6:17 PM ^
Hardly the same thing. Henne has been a starter before, and has been the clear back up all season before the injury.
December 28th, 2012 at 8:16 PM ^
how can anyone hate a robot?
December 28th, 2012 at 6:14 PM ^
Guess who has the Chargers defense for Fantasy Football ... yes sirrrr. After racking up a TD & 11 sacks on the Jets, now this. I might win the consolation playoffs after all.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:11 PM ^
Take the Chargers and give the points?
December 28th, 2012 at 8:17 PM ^
Norv Turner is the head coach on the opposite sideline.
December 28th, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
Is Al Davis still alive? WTH.
December 28th, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
Desperation, thy name is Pryor. Maybe they call the Jets about Tebow.
December 28th, 2012 at 9:14 PM ^
Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Wooooh, wow!
That is exactly what came out of my mouth when I read the thread title.
December 28th, 2012 at 10:29 PM ^
I could not type haha repeatedly quite so fast. Kudos to you, sir
December 29th, 2012 at 8:06 AM ^
Bust out laughing every time!
