being in NC, about 2 hours from TN, i work with and know quite a few TN fans and they are all extremely pissed today. even 2 days ago they all loved him because in their words, "he's a dickhead". now it all amuses me how UT fans are getting screwed by that dickhead. was it a shitty move by him and his staff, sure but can you blame they guy? they do and they will continue to do so. a couple of the Vols message boards even put Lane and Layla Kiffins personal cell numbers up for all to see. I did get quite a bit of amusement out of hearing some people leave these obnoxious messages on their voice mails.

Whoa. Whoa. Tennessee fans make West Virginia fans look like the Swiss. Somewhere RichRod is sitting back chuckling at Little Ol' Lane. They are pissed!

@swiperboy lives right outside the athletic complex and has been tweeting since the start. Honestly seeing some of his tweets just really makes me feel sad for the fans and the players. For example: "my home boys on the football team were MAD.. like just in disbelief... seein the looks on their faces makes me feel for em yo... we all fam..." and "man this is just nuts... ppl r just goin nuts u would think this is the end of the world!!!" I honestly feel bad for Tennessee. I still think that it's funny on USCs end, but I just feel bad for Tennessee. Chivalry and honor are dead for the almighty dollar and it's frankly sad.

And I think that if people were to write a story about a football off-season that already they would think that this version is too far-fetched and crazy to believe. I've tried to rack my brain to find a way that this could be shittier for UT fans but I can't. Try putting yourself in their shoes and I honestly don't think that you'd be too happy either.

I have Aggie freinds, so I'll try very hard to say this in a respectful (versus arrogant) tone, but A&M, with all the tradition it has (the big bonfire, Texas rivalry, the Corps of Cadets, yelling and all), is not the same as Michigan and all the tradition it has. To leave from West Virginia (as proud as the State and region rightfully are of the Mountaineers) to coach Michigan or from Tennessee to coach USC are obvious steps up in the world of college football. If your were the CEO of Starbucks, and the CEO position at Coca Cola came open, and they wanted you for it, and offered you much more money, you'd take it. You might feel bad about leaving, might really love Starbucks and the people, but the chance to drive one of the most recognized brands in the world only comes along a once in a lifetime.

the players i feel for are the ones who committed to play for Phil Fulmer. I always hated Fulmer, but Fulmer WAS UT football. Kiffin's recruits committed to play for LANE KIFFIN!!! They almost had this coming based on that alone. I bet Je'Ron Stokes is one happy Wolverine right about now.

I was part of a gathering that got tear gassed once at the intersection of East U and South U. It was tha shit! It just made me sneeze a lot, which enhanced the buzz I was on at the time. There was a tear gas sniper (or maybe mace) on top of the coffee shop. It was quite comical. It was after one of the fab five losses, but I don't remember which one. It was a pretty weak gathering, and the disbursement tactics were quite unnecessary, what with the marching horse patrol and all (unless I imagined that part).

This teargas incident was after the 1992 Championship Game. There weren't many people actually on the street at the time. The use of teargas wasn't warranted. The other time I was teargassed was the night before the 1991 ND game. Again, totally unwarranted. There were a bunch of ND students on the south side of South E and a bunch of Michigan student on the north side, generally verbally harassing each other, but good natured on the whole. Next thing that happens is teargas is in the air. I got it much worse that night and it sucks.

I don't remember the incidents you speak of before the ND game. I remember having my first beer ever at frat house at Sigma Chi (resists reference to malodorous cheesy like substance) that night. I don't remember anything else between that beer and "The Catch".

I had an apartment on South U. and South Forest (behind the old McDonalds). Our AC was on and the teargas got sucked into our apartment. My roommate got bodyslammed into a brick wall by a 6'8" monster of a cop (hint, never say "here, piggy piggy" to a cop in a bad mood). My neighbor got arrested for felony inciting a riot - for walking down the street after most of the crowd had left. Fun times. Best part that I heard later from a police officer was that the police fired the tear gas into the wind, it blew back towards them and many of them didn't have gas masks.

Championship game vs Duke. I remember it well. Had a front row seat @ Church & South U to see the idiot chuck a beer bottle at a cop after the AAPD started running horses up and down South U to clear the street. Just missed the cop's head (leading to the tear gas) and hit a girl in the face, opening several deep and exceedingly bloody cuts on her face. I carried an Ann Arbor News reporter out of the tear gas into East Engin (had a key to the building) so he could wash the tear gas out of his eyes. Good times.

My freshman year. I think the tear gassing started because someone threw a full beer up at the "sniper" of which you reference. It was a pretty tame gathering overall. A stop sign got tore down. People were climbing on the trees and light posts, but I didn't see any serious attempts at destruction. On a related note, I was also in Ann Arbor after the football championship. Since it was winter break, it was pretty peaceful, unless you consider chanting "It's great... to be... a Michigan Wolverine" to be disruptive. Sparty scoffs at our pathetic attempts at rioting.

As I sit here in Kingsport, Tn. I'm smiling with Glee, Charles Woodson won the Defensive player of the year award and Lane Kiffin has "betrayed" Tennessee. Two great things to taunt UT fans with. It's a great day to be a Wolverine fan, but isn't it always !!!!!!!!!!!!

A few year's back I asked my dad if he liked college football. He said, "I love college football." Then I asked him why he never watched any games. He said, "They don't play college football anymore." IE...It's the NFL jr with a bunch of tradition and pageantry that is no longer authentic as it is overly whored by the media.... I thought, man, my dad is missing out and he sounds like an old cranky "turn that damn noise down" geriatric. I guess I am getting old and cranky now too...I will always watch the Michigan games and enjoy the team, but my dad was right. It really isn't college football. It's a business that has very little to do with the university, other than playing in it's stadiums and being named after its mascots and playing its fight song. Now I am not naive, I know that big college athletics has been big money for many years now, but something about it now just feels too much like a factory. Hired gun coaches, recruiting scandals, BCS bullshit. Seems like no university is immune as the almighty dollar trumps all. Win and the $ will follow.

I know it has been pretty cold everywhere lately, but what a bunch of sissies in their winter coats. I haven't worn a winter coat yet this year, up here in Michigan.

According to the weather Tuesday morning, it was actually a couple degrees colder in Jacksonville and Tallahassee than it was in Michigan the previous night. Oddly Michigan is having a slightly mild winter, and everywhere else (including the rest of the world - Europe, China...) is getting nailed.
