Gosh I hope so, I have been a huge RR supporter from the moment he was announced but at this point I just want to win. The past 3 years have been a brutal period to be a Michigan fan and I am ready to get back near the top of the B10 again.

Heading into THE GAME, they have us being 8-3, so that basically means they also predict us to beat Ohio State, in Columbus, and/or to win our bowl game. I'll take that.

I think 8 is a very reasonable prediction. There are quite a few Big 10 fanbases who don't quite realize what they lost after last year. Penn State fans think they will be as good this year as they were last, but they don't realize Darryl Clark has been keeping them in games for three years. Illinois and Purdue both lost starting QB's, and shouldn't be tough matchups. Playing Iowa at home makes me like our chances. As long as we don't slip up against UConn or ND, we have a fairly easy road to 8 wins. Vincent Smith being 100% at the beginning of the year will be very important as well.

I don't think any of those predictions are too far off base. Michigan definitely can make it to nine wins if they get immediate help from the underclassmen in the secondary and improved play at linebacker. If they don't, expect lots and lots of high scoring games that Michigan will win around half of to get to 7ish wins.

I think the Penn State prediction is right on, they are losing an awful lot and Kevin Newsome will need to have a solid first season as a starter to beat eight wins.

Agree on Penn State. You don't go from a 5th year Senior who has been a 4 year starter to a true sophomore without some serious growing pains. Without as much of a passing threat, Royster will not be as effective as he has been in the past.

8) Fitzgerald Toussaint breaks 17 ankles...on 1 play!

7) Michigan wins 15 games. They beat MSU so badly it counts as 4 games in itself

6) Joe Paterno roams the sidelines on a hoveround.

5) Mike Martin will order a Big Mac at Burger King, and get one.

4) Jim Tressel will trade in his sweatervest for a leather one.

3) Will Hagerup is officially appionted the next Space Emporer of Space and promptly starts to kick 30 footballs into the sun...as a warm up exercise.

2) Texas, Alabama, and Virginia Tech all join the Big 10.

1) The Free Press officially changes from a newspaper into a toilet paper company. Except nobody tells them.

Its their last road game before Ohio State. They only lose because Michael Rosenberg slashes the team bus' tires on the from the hotel to the stadium and they are unable to show up for the game. Thus resulting in an automatic forfeit.

is that 4 teams from the Big Ten are ranked in the top 12 to start the pre-season. However, this is definetly the year we beat everyone that we are supposed to (Illinois, Purdue, ect.).

I do think that Michigan will get 7 or 8 wins this year. That's what I said for last year, yet I (and pretty much everyone else) thought that even a freshman quarterback would be much better than Nick Sheridan, which he was, but Tate was not the savior of the program that we'd hoped for. Now, everyone will point to experience this year and rightfully so. Still, our defense will be bad yet again. The secondary will be especially terrible. I think the offense can carry the team though, and we are probably going to beat who we should beat and lose to better teams. That puts us around 7 or 8 wins by my estimation, and as long as one of those wins is against Michigan State, I'll be happy.

Iowa will probably win the Big Ten, there will be a clear separation between Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin and the rest of the pack. Penn State will get embarrassed by Alabama prompting "the Big Ten is terrible" media reaction and Minnesota will get crushed by USC, but the rest of the conference should do really well OOC. Ohio State and Iowa will get BCS bids IMO.

Purdue, eh... whatevah. I don't really like them after the Kramer nosebleedand subsequent ejection or the bush-league move by Mini-Tiller. Roy Roundtree laughs at your misfortune.

The Big Ten will add another team.

I don't understand what is up with everyone saying that 5 wins and a few almost wins is bad for a freshman qb? 2 years ago robert griffin won 4 games for baylor and everyone was calling him a savior after that. also, i have always heard that the biggest jump in ability from one year to the next for a qb is from fresh to soph year. and its also not like he had a bunch of star upperclassmen offensive players around him either. I think we'll see a huge jump in ability, mental and physical, from Tate this year

Because I think I saw Purdue going 8-4 - someone's idea of a joke. Purdue loses their QB and 10 other starters. plus key backups. Unless Danny Hope can make gold players out of the straw recruits it's a long season in West Lafayette.

I just hope we can stop the fumbles, my god..

The biggest game up until the MSU game has to be the opener against UCONN.. I know it isn't like an app state etc.. Michigan also has a lot to prove, and they aren't going to be ranked so I am hoping michigan will come out and curb stomp UCONN. I really feel this game will have a big toll on what they will do next year. Still think they will win 7 or 8 though. If they do beat UCONN and do it well, then prob 9 win season.

I'd have to disagree. 17 ankles on 1 play is highly unlikely.
Have you seen his highlights? I think he'll break at least 20 before the balls snapped.

... not to put your post down or anything
