There is no description of the job. http://umjobs.org/job_detail/79726/football_analyst
I'm tempted to apply, but I'm already a full time employee of the U. Too bad.

I had the same thought. Pretty funny posting it that way regardless.
Yeah, state laws require posting of all job openings to help prevent cronyism/nepotism. It doesn't really work, but the thought is nice. U of M had to post the head coach opening when Rodriguez and Hoke were hired too.
There was actually an Onion article along those lines recently. Too bad one minute of half-hearted searching didn't turn it up.
I think someone posted it on the board. I was extremely tempted to send in an app just for kicks.
...is found here, if I am not mistaken, and definitely seems to apply to a blank listing. A seach of the administrative staff shows that we have three analysts on staff at last report, two defensive analysts and one offensive analyst.
The opener for the Onion article, which is all too true of many companies:
"Software developer WebTek Network Solutions went ahead and posted a listing for a job this morning as if the purportedly open position hadn’t already been promised to a friend of one the company’s current employees, sources confirmed Monday."
"Funny isn't it, how naughty dentists always make that one fatal mistake."

So, there's also this somewhat related (and also amusing) one from the Onion from back in 2001:
Nepotism Passed Off As Synergy

That's the weirdest post for a U job I've ever seen.
"I love him, he's a great coach, he's a great mentor, he's a great friend. He's every single thing you want a college coach to be, and he does it flawlessly." -David Molk
It ends 3-1-13...so we'll know the new coach by then?
3-3-5 til the day I die y'all
Oh noes, the University is resorting to walk-on hires as football coaches? Everyone panic!

I think em0 should apply.
Dave Brandon is woefully ignorant about our depth chart in 2027.
It is spelled HOKEAMANIA. Our coach is an ass-kicking American citizen, not one of the Beatles, for Christ's sake!
Don't worry guys, I got this
"All I've had today is, like, six gummy bears and some scotch"
I'm surprised HR let this one through. Normally they at least require some kind of description to post it so random people have a chance to at least write a decent cover letter or the like. Supposedly the fairness of it can be debated otherwise.
The weirdest part of this is that it is non exempt under the FLSA which means it is a low-level job eligible for overtime pay. Which isn't the type of thing they would have a person in mind for
"I just hope Tressel doesn't fire me"

My guess is that they have a student lined up for work study which is why it is a non-exempt / hourly employee. Not someone recruited for a salaried spot, but someone with ties to the program.
Wasn't Koger coming back as a football analyst? Maybe that's his spot
I will accept any role the U has to offer.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
Then have fun at Miami.
I will not negotiate;
if offered I will not accept;
if hired I will not serve.
That is all.

My guess is that they want to hire someone (a specific person), but University rules/state laws require them to post it publicly.
They no longer call me Bisbiño
