Teaser on Jernigan at Scout

Submitted by StephenRKass on

According to the board,Tim Jernigan dropped Michigan However, there is a Teaser headline at Scout asking Is Michigan still Alive for Jernigan? Can anyone shed light on this? DT is now one of our greatest areas of need, perhaps the greatest. To have the opportunity to add Jernigan would be massive for the team right now.

I think this is just Scout trying to keep a story alive. Unless we switch to a 4-3, I don't believe Jernigan wants to come here.

Tim's coach said he was down to 4 not the Jernigans.  They plan at being at at least one bowl practice that is open to the public.  They are very concerned with whether RR will be back or not. IMO Jernigan could easily play DE for us which would eliminate being double teamed all the time.

Last I read was that Michigan was still in for Jernigan. I think it was talked about on the board a few days ago. It'd be awesome to have him in this class. Everytime I hear his name I just think of the BIG TIME TIMMY JIM sportscenter commercial

what kid doesn't want to play on the line in a 3-3-5 and get triple teamed every play by the center and both gaurds.

If it makes anyone feel better, Scout has an article up about Darian Cooper no longer having Michigan on the outside looking in. Apparently we're in better shape with him than most had perceived. Cooper's probably a better shot than Jernigan, whether Cooper's opinion of UM has changed or not.

The coach was the one who claimed USC and Michigan had been dropped, not the family.  It's true that he would like to shy away from the 3-3-5 but that's still not keeping him away completely.  It's also true that his family would prefer him playing closer to home.

Rivals never took Michigan out of Jernigan's top group and I don't think Scout did either.  I think we have a good shot with either Jernigan or Cooper based on our high need for D lineman.  The coaches will pull something off.  It's no secret, we desperately need one in this class.
