Tears of Unfathomable Sadness for Ohio & Sparty Scenario

Submitted by Goblueman on

Auburn destroys Missouri.Ohio gets a lucky win in a close, dull, controversial game (MSU  gets called for a shady pass interference penalty late in 4th Qrt.) BCS voters put Auburn ahead of Ohio.A bitter Ohio goes to Rose. Urban cries  to the media about Auburn being chosen ahead of Ohio and is roundly critisized for being a hypocritical crybaby.Ohio gets beaten badly by Stanford/ASU.Sparty goes to Cap1or Outback Bowl and loses big.

i would win the opposite of the tears of unfathomable sadness award if that actually happened.  unfortunately, it's almost impossible that auburn passes OSU if OSU wins.

AU and Ohio both barely won last week and AU shortened Ohio's BCS lead from .1 to .02. Granted AU won over #1 Alabama.

Now, you guys are telling me that a dominant AU win over the #5 team in the nation versus a nailbiter Ohio win over #10 MSU will keep Ohio at #2? I don't think so. Especially with Ohio only up 31 votes in the AP and only up 25 votes in the Coaches poll.

Auburn wins soundly and a Ohio nailbiter gives AU the push to #2.

Even sweeter, if MSU loses I hope that somehow they fall out of top 14 so they miss a BCS bowl. Oh sparty tears would taste oh so like sugar then.

That's my number 1 hope for this game. A lot of predictions have OSU to the championship and MSU to the Rose Bowl but I would love to see the MSU Rose Bowlless streak continue past the quarter century mark. So as much as I hate to say it, I want OSU to absolutely curbstomp MSU to guarantee they end up #15 or worse.

And . . . there is still the hope for Tears of Unfathomable Sadness.  If Ohio State loses yet another NC, they'll have to walk around with their tail between their legs for another decade.

They don't crow as much about beating us in the "#1 vs. #2 game" in 2006 as you would expect.  Because all you need to mention is that they got crushed in the NC.  The #1 was a myth and they know it.

If this was a non brand name team, I could see Auburn passing them. With Ohio State, it isn't happening. You're sadly going to have to cheer for Michigan State if you want OSU out of the championship game.

A more likely scenario is: Ohio wins BTCG and goes to the national championship to face FSU, while MSU goes to the Rose Bowl to face Stanford. It is then discovered that Jameis Winston is actually Jack the Ripper and the Tallahasee PD has been hiding it for 150 years. OSU stomps Winston-less FSU and wins the MNC. Meanwhile, Sparty obliterates #5 Stanford and wins the Rose Bowl, legitimizing themselves on the national stage.

As Michigan fans, this is our lot in life.

I'm afraid that msu is going to get the shaft from B1G officials like they by the officials during the ND game. And don't give me the ''their corners play aggressive'' crap. They got fucked during the ND game. I WISH our corners had the ability to play as aggressive as the msu corners and not give a ten year cushion.

Alright everyone, gather round and put on your tinfoil hats: Does anyone else think that there's a possibility that the Big Ten brass see the value in an OSU win and will do something to influence the game? I don't expect anything if it's a blow out either way, but if it's a tight ball game I am half expecting to see some help for OSU in the form of pass interference calls or no calls in OSU's favor.

Call me crazy, but I think that Jim Delany and the other guys who run the B1G recognize what a huge opportunity they have here. They have a big name team with a new big name coach who has gone 25-0 over the course of his tenure there. With an OSU win this week there is a great chance that the SEC's championship will be broken (albeit by default) and who could think of a better way to kick off the new look Big Ten than with a title winner? I don't have any inside information on the subject but the B1G has a lot to gain with an OSU win.

Also, chemtrails are chemicals used to control our minds and Gordon Gee is a reptilian man.

1.Down 4,with no time outs,Ohio completes a pass to the Sparty 1 yard line, they rush to spike the ball but alas the clock has run out BUT NO WAIT,for some reason the clock shows 1 second left.Ohio gets 1 more play and scores the winning TD. Sparty fans complain for decades over what UM fans dub the "Revenge for Timekeeper Bob Game"

2.MSU stages a valient rally and scores a last second TD to bring Sparty within 1.They courageously go for 2.On the 2 point try  an Ohio CB holds, trips & interfers with the Sparty WR but no callis made.

I find myself wanting to root for Sparty this weekend. As annoying as Sparty can get, I can't stand the Urban Meyer win streak and would hate nothing more than the possibility of an OSU national championship.

There is no doubt Sparty will get screwed if the game gets close, but Auburn will not pass Ohio State if OSU wins.  Impossible.  However, if FSU loses, then Auburn's got a pretty good chance.

I think this game will be between Ohio State's defense and Sparty's offense. Both can play well, but can be equally suspect at times. Whichever lays the bigger egg, loses.

I want Sparty to win.

Havent been to a Rose Bowl since 1988?? I'm ok with them going. Plus it kicks OSU out of Champ game, where they do not belong IMO.

I would rather see OSU win.  I think that would be better for Michigan.  Yes, I do feel dirty after typing that.  Here is my thinking:

OSU is already seen as an elite program.  It ain't fair, but that's how it is.  Winning another conference crown and going to the NCG doesn't change how they are viewed all that much.

MSU isn't seen as elite, or even a top-tier program.  However, they are getting noticed.  A win against OSU, a Big Ten title and a legitimate trip to the Rose Bowl wouldn't make them elite, but it would move them up to the next tier of teams.  Do. Not. Want.

I think Michigan has more to loose from an MSU win than an OSU win.

I will still be hoping that zombies overrun Lucas Oil on Saturday.  Actual zombies.  Yep, go zombies.

MSU beats the bucks and gets mauled in the Rose Bowl.

OSU gets the "real" championship game against Alabama. Ohio scores on the opening kickoff but breaks their returner's leg in celebration. Bama then scores the next 64 points going for 2 after each TD.

Meyer resigns to spend more time with his family(haha) and Kiffin is named the new coach.
