Team 134 Captains -- Who Do You Have?

Submitted by Perkis-Size Me on

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up on the board yet, but who do you have pegged as a captain for Team 134 next year? With Lewan coming back, my money would be on him being one of them. As for the other, it looks a little more up in the air. If I had to guess, it would be between Quinton Washington and Jeremy Gallon.

But who do you have?

Gardner, Lewan, Gordon and Gallon.

Toussaint is a candidate too if all things go well the next six or seven months.

I agree. Each side of the ball and add Gibbons. 5th year senior, rough start but stayed with the team when half his class bolted, fought through adversity and now he's a legit weapon. Plus his cool demeanor and post-game press conferences would be epic

and that's it.  Maybe Gardner too because he seems to be the most popular guy on the team and he's the starting QB.

There is nobody on the defense who has established themselves as a team leader.

and brunette girls (sorry, Te'o, only real brunettes allowed).

Seriously though, this is a tough question. I see one or more of the following guys:

Offense: Lewan, Dileo, Gardner (I just love the way he presents himself)

Defense: JMFR, Washington, ???

I see a lot more guys on offense than defense. But then again, I'm just a fan and am not seeing the team chemistry on the field or in the locker room.

He suffered through one of the worst seasons in michigan kicking history. Was written off by many. He must have worked his ass off to better himself to better the team. Would love to see him get this honor for the work he has done.

I guess I started this thread under the assumption that Ryan wouldn't get it because he won't be a senior, and Gardner would get his redshirt and not be a senior, but I don't know how you classify who's a senior and who's not. Hell, I don't even know if Hoke considers being a senior as a pre-requisite. Both Gardner and Ryan would be solid choices as well.

Parden my ignorance, but didn't Hoke say that you need to be a senior to be a captain?

Also, I think two captains are perfect, 1 for D and 1 for O. Is there any cap on how many captains there will be? I'm guessing this is going to turn into a case by case thing.

My vote right now is Lewan, and sticking with the seniors only theme, I'm not sure of who else it would be besides Gallon.

Lewan & Gardner pending any requirement of 1 offense & 1 defense.  When has a kicker (Gibbons) ever been captain?  That would be quite fitting for Gibbons, though - imagine his reaction:  "cool."
