Terrelle Pryor is a walking mental mistake.
Illegal formation in the last minute after an intentional grounding penalty.
No way.
Tate has poise and can manage a game. Pryor cannot.

I agree. True to his eye black, I keep seeing flashes of Michael Vick in Pryor. Bits of potential brilliance and raw in-your-face athleticism, but in the end just not an ELITE Quarterback. Pryor is the better athlete. Tate is the better QB IME. I am perfectly content having "missed out" on TP in the end (MINOR PUN!!! [with additional embedded pun])

As an aside, the Big Ten is currently 3-2 in games against BCS opponents pending the Oregon-Purdue outcome. Not too shabby considering the debacles occurring in the Big XII today.

I put up a post last week about this and got reamed for it, but....I stand by my original assertion. I think we got the better roll for our team and school.

Don't get me wrong I would have loved to get TP last year, but the more he speaks, he just doesn't seem intelligent enough to be a Michigan Man! Tate just has the Moxie and seems to carry himself as a good human being!

Long life the FORCE!

I have to admit,TP is a true athletic talent, but Tate is far ahead of TP when it comes to poise, confidence, and flat out pressure control. Call me Senor Byass, but that is what I think. GOD BLESS!

How exactly did he screw us. He took his time to make a decision and chose the school that he liked more. He didn't pull a Beaver and commit to Michigan, reaffirm his commitment several times, and then pull out of the class a few days later.

I don't like Pryor, but I simply cannot see anyway that he wronged Michigan. A recruit can only wrong us by decommitting, and even that is a gray area, especially when you consider soft-commits.

The moment I saw Tate in the spring game, TP's potential commitment at Michigan was a thing of the past.

I will take Tate any day of the week over Pryor. Especially after seeing his mental mistakes both on and off the field now (but, y'know, everybody kills people, so it's all good. whatever)

Tate is a true QB. Pryor is the better athlete, but lacks the poise to manage a game and lead a team. Furthermore, Forcier is the better passer, in my opinion.

Also (and perhaps, more importantly), "everybody murders" is not a quote you want to ever hear out of a UM football player.

Tate is at 68% in passing and won both of his games. I can't say much for TP last year with a mentor starting a game or 2 before he did. Of course, TP didn't attend spring ball, but he just doesn't seem destined for greatness and poise like Tate.

Doesn't Pryor need someone to sit him down and tell him about a guy named Maurice Clarett? Just a cautionary tale...this is what can happen to a talented athlete that isn't mature enough to take advantage of his talents.

I never liked Pryor as a QB, but in college he'll still win his fair share of games because of his athleticism. He let his team down with some of those horrible passes, but he would have been a decent QB in UM's system last year. His big problem is that nobody ever taught him, or he never learned, how to play QB. He learned how to run past guys and launch ducks over DB's heads once they suck in his run fake. He's going to win a lot of games in Columbus, but my guess is that Buckeye fans will look back and realize these wins rarely were the important ones they really needed.

Pryor would be a much more effective Wide Receiver...and no im not being racist by saying that it has nothing to do with the color of his skin....he just doesnt have the mental make up to be a good QB

btw im not sure that Pryor is the "better athlete"...bigger, stronger and maybe faster...but Tate has some thing that he does with his athletic ability that Pryor doesnt

Remember that Vince Young wasn't all that his 2nd year on the field either. He cost them a few games with horrible QB play. TP will get better, but you can't teach poise like Tate has.

Tate. no question. TP is definately more athletic, but that doesn't matter. He doesn't throw as well, he isn't as mature, and i swear he doesn't look that much faster than Tate when he tries to scramble. So fare, Tate has been way more impressive than TP. God this is a fun season!

player then he is now in Rich Rod's offense no doubt...but he really absolutly cannot read a defense.. I dont know if he ever will...he never sees his open receivers.. Tate is really crossing into freak teritory with his ability to make plays with his arm and his legs..true freshman..2nd game.. wrap your mind around that and look at his stats.. compare his 1st 2 games to pretty much any college qb at a major school ever..FREAK

I might just be buying into the hype, but I don't care. I think he will be a much better passer at the college level. Pryor may be more athletic, but I think Forcier already rivals him at passing and decision making.

Re: Discussion, I will go with RR's standard response: "I don't discuss players who go to other teams."

Seriously, this is a great example of how the most talented individual physically is not nec. the best QB. I have suspected for some time that Forcier had "the right stuff." It is too soon to tell definitively. But it sure seems to be the case.

Now, more important, from my perspective, is the comparison of Tate Forcier to DR & to Devin Gardner. I have very significant doubts that either will pass Forcier. But this is a matter for another post.

It's amazing that we can even debate this. Pryor is not only a year older, he was the #1 national recruit in 2008. And yet Tate has been clearly the better QB so far this season. As of right now I'm very happy with how things worked out (even if it did contribute to us not having a functional QB last year).

I think Pryor would make a great spread quarterback. Unfortunately for him and OSU, he is being used as a pocket passer, which is a real shame (joy).

But if Pryor had chosen to come here, I truly believe he would be utilized much more effectively than he is at OSU.

I hope that came out coherently, my mind is still reeling from the game.

Tate seems to be much more grounded. I loved the story that RichRod told last night after the game about how Tate was getting on the bus before the game and was upset because he realized he forgot to brush his teeth. Does anything shake him? I also read a story in the Adrian Telegram last Sunday where Tate said he got a tear in his eye as he ran out of the tunnel last week and heard 110,000 people cheering and he realized how much this all means to Michigan fans. This kid really gets it. I don't think TP really give a damn about OSU fans when it all comes down to it. He's just bidding his time until payday (if that day hasn't already arrived...). Sorry I don't have any links.
