The first half of Tate's freshmen season was awesome and he showed some nice moments filling in for Denard this season but I'm not sure if his time as the Michigan starting qb is gone. Just think he's used 2 seasons up already. By the time he gets his grades up, the question will be where are Denard and Devin be on the qb depth chart? Will Hoke have recruited a stud 5 star qb that he would like to insert at the first opportunity?

Either way I'm rooting for this guy. After all he is a part of Michigan, would love to have him as an excellent back up, and he is human. We want people to succeed in general anyways.

Denard is the qauterback and will be for the next two years. Hoke and Borges have made that pretty clear. Anyone besides Denard taking snaps at QB for Michigan over the next two years would be an absolute shame.

Besides, a 5 star Freshman QB <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< a Senior Denard Robinson

Despite what he said during the season, I think it was glaringly obvious that what the football move would be for Tate.  I don't hold it against anyone when they transfer to a situation that is arguably in their interests.  And clearly, Tate is getting the bulk of his education foundation from football.

Good luck to him.  I wish him well.

Allows 140 characters, Tate - stop being so inefficient with these 50 character tweets!  Think about the made up forests that produce the made up paper for the internet!

seems like he's giving the reasons why he's not coming back.

I am proud to have been part of Michigan Football history and will always cherish the memory.

I was hoping he was going to take personal responsibility for his own actions.  Instead, it sounds more like Vince McMahon after what is known as the "Montreal Screwjob" saying, "Vince McMahon didn't screw Bret Hart; Bret Hart screwed Bret Hart."

It sounds to me like he needs to go to a party school in a small conference where he can put up a lot of stats, party a lot, and not study hard.  I'm sure there are plenty of them around.  At any rate, he is keeping the family tradition intact.

Jesus dude, cut the kid some slack. He went from being a national golden boy (my OSU loving dad even told me that he wished the Buckeyes had Tate rather than Pryor after the 2009 Notre Dame game) to taking a pretty steep fall. Yes some to a lot of it was due to his own bad decisions, but I think he showed a lot of growth and maturity as the 2010 season wore on. Obviously he made some bad decisions and will have to deal with it, but he's a 20 year old college sophomore (and one who had all of his mistakes scrutinized and thrown back in his face at a national level).

He gave Michigan a lot. Things didn't work out for him, but rather than be pissy about it, I feel bad about it. I wish he was staying, but he's not. He's got the talent to start at the D-I level, so I say good luck to him and I hope he finds a place to play.

ok, it's official, he's done:

I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me.

You know the whole "glass shattering" thing?

That happens with me when a UM player leaves the school (graduation or transfer), and I realize what people were complaining about him while he was donning the winged helmet (and I was blindly rooting for him like all good nutball fans do).

Dramatic?  Naaah.... he's just cocky and passionate - I want my QBs to be like that!

Damn. For all his attitude problems he had before, I wanted him back definitely. He was a more than capable backup and playmaker, and possibly could have blossomed more under Hoke's offense.

Given us some memories, that is forsure.

It's been years since someone's broken up with me to my face like this.  I-I-I don't know what to say.

This went from funny, to inspirational, to sad in 20 minutes.  Nuts.

Remember when people said that either Denard or Tate would transfer or change positions by the end of their career?

Well . . . I guess we're finding out which one is going to hang on the longest.
