Tate = Kellen Moore?

Submitted by tricks574 on
Watching Kellen Moore, a redshirt sophomore Qb for Boise State, he seems to be what we hope Tate will. I realize he's got more experience, but he reminds me of how tate looked in the spring game. He seems comfortable throwing on the run and deadly accurate, but not gamebreaking speed or a rocket arm. A cursory look at scout has Moore a 4* Qb, who is undersized, but very accurate, and well groomed for the position, being a coaches son. Sound familiar? Thought it might be interesting for M fans to check out the game tonight, and try to keep an eye on Moore, especially because Oregon went with all white uni's, vastly decreasing the risk of migraines.

I have only seen Moore play a couple times, but I love his accuracy. He can really pick D's apart. However, I think Tate may have more potential than Moore. Tate is more athletic and has a stronger arm. If his accuracy is more akin to his junior year of highschool rather than his senior, he may be better.

Let's let Tate define who he is on the field this Saturday. Lets not box him in to being like Kellen or Wilson from NC State. For all you know you could short changing him.

I think if Tate is successful, he will have to be stylistically similar to Moore. Probably more dangerous as a scrambler, but more high percentage passes and rollouts than stretching the field. Neither is Pat White electric, but both are athletic and smart enough to improvise when necessary.

I've had my eye on Kellen Moore for a while, he went to a really good high school program in my home state. I didn't know he'd be this good, but he is quite a gem.
