Has anyone heard anything? Caught this video online and it freaked me out.

I just saw that on ESPN too. I noticed after he threw that TD pass in the 4th to Odoms that he couldn't lift his right arm. Kinda curious how he threw that ball on the money given how much pain he seemed to be in.

I would expect RR to allow as little info as possible out about this. This could make MSU prepare for two or even three QB's next week. I hope he uses a time-honored Southern tratidion, says a "whole lotta nothing," and doesn't even announce a starter until game time.

Brings back visions of Henne. I hope it's really just a bruise, and lets hope they don't hit a nerve shooting him up with pain meds making matters wores (like they did Henne). Then again Henne beat Michigan State with his throwing arm dangling.

I honestly think there was a little bit of gamesmanship on UMs part on this one. If Tate really jakked his shoulder up I don't think his td pass to odoms would have been have been nearly as accurate. Maybe not though.

No way that was acting, the second video tells us that - he couldn't toss the football to the ref with that arm. He was overprotective or he was in too much pain. Either way - not good. I think he is likely more injured rather than less. But, if we dont have Tate for MSU, we might be ok. It might even be a good thing. We need 2 qbs we can win with, and putting a whole game primarily in Denard's hands is what he needs. It might hurt us for the MSU game, hell it may even cost us the game, but it will only help us later in the season for more difficult tests. I don't feel too bad about a Denard/Sheriden combo for next week, leading to an improved Tate/Denard combo for the rest of the season.

This is the kind of thing we don't want to happen to Tate. I would like to know who the jerk was that hit him on the shoulder on the sidelines. Total dick move. It looked like Tate was pretty vocal about the fact that he was in pain, so I'm not sure why a player would go up and hit him on the shoulder. One the other hand, though, I think we'll be fine if Denard has to play. He can't throw as well as Tate, that's a given. Denard can throw fine and showed some solid passes against the Hoosiers. He also adds some serious speed. Denard's ball security just scares me a little. He fumbled another snap (probably mostly due to the worst center play I've ever seen(obviously he's new but seriously...)) and he also gave up a normal fumble.

While I shouldn't nitpick the winning TD pass, it was a little underthrown. It's quite possible that his shoulder injury affected the throw. We could be in for a long day if MSU cheats their safeties up.

i definitely noticed this as well. that sucker was nearly knocked away, when odoms had quite a bit of separation. i guess we'll find out, but we may be seeing the return of the suicidal kitten next week. DRob is not equipped yet to manage an entire game, no matter how fast he is.

Tate Forcier, quarterback. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Tate Forcier will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

This simply means it is Denard's time to shine. Throw a bomb first play next time Denard is in. If it hits, the safeties won't cheat up and it'll open up the offense.

Assuming he's okay to play, he may want to avoid going airborne for a while. While cool, those two leaps scared me. He might have aggravated his injury on the first.

I talked to him last night at the Fifth Quarter and he said he has a AC joint sprain and a big bruise. He said he injured himself like this before in high school and he couldn't throw until Friday of that week. He was in obvious pain and wouldn't shake anyones hand with his right arm. We'll see, but its a little more serious than just a "bruise". That being said, he looked fine throwing the ball on that last TD pass to Odoms.

The pass to Odoms may not offer much insight toward next week. Often, an athlete can still perform to some degree immediately after a sprain, before it becomes badly swollen. After it swells, it can be awhile before the athlete regains regular mobility.

I think we should start the game out with Forcier, if he is okay to play a little bit, and only throw some short bubble screen-type plays and some runs. Try to get the running game going. After a series or two, bring in Denard. Try to keep the running game going and do some bubble screen-type plays with some regular pass plays thrown in. Run the ball. Run the ball. Run the ball. Try to keep Tate off the field as much as possible, but play him (if he's able) if we need him.

Looks like this offense is about to go into full Pat White - Mode with Denard at the helm. Thats ok, as long as it works :)
