Tate to Hawaii or San Jose State?

...but wake me up when he actually picks a school. The speculation grew tiresome a while ago.
Well, he's a former starting QB at a high-profile school, and it is the offseason. I suppose it warrants some mention. But I wish he'd figure it out already.
Well...not to quarrel, but Hawai'i is actually a pretty big deal out west. They've had some real success, both in winning games and producing NFL talent. They've been eclipsed in recent years by other BCS-busters, most notably by Boise State who stopped them from being regularly competing for the WAC crown, but for a non-AQ school, they're reasonably big.
Their 7,000 fans agree.
I live out west and Hawaii football is not a big deal.
Hawaii has a good record at home becuase everybody who goes there thinks they are on vacation and plays like it. Having June Jones made a pretty big difference, too. Jones was 75-41. Greg McMacken is 21-17.
being bowl-eligible for most teams, since they get to schedule 13 if they travel to Hawai'i, while still needing only 6 wins to qualify.

he needs to go is Hawaii with his academic troubles. If he couldn't stay with the books in Michigan where its freezing a good portion of the school year he will be doomed in Hawaii. Way too many distractions there...
Why do I get the feeling he isn't done picking schools. My guess is that even after he actually plays for another team, that too may be short lived.
Well, I don't imagine San Jose is THAT much worse in terms of stuff to get distracted by, especially for a guy who was bedding Miss Michigan.
I work three blocks from SJSU's campus. Trust me, it's a drab and boring place. If SJSU has too many distractions for the kid, then he might be beyond help.
Trust me. He is only looking at SJSU because their academics are a joke and it's somewhat close to home.
I mean, seriously. Every other week he is throwing a couple of schools out there to keep his name in themedia. At this point its almost as bad as the never ending Brett Farve retirement saga. Its probably worse as we don't have Rachel Nichols camped out providing hourly reports on Tate.
Id go to Hawaii just for the location

Is he working with some kind of a deadline? It would seem to make sense that he needs to transfer before the start of this season or else he might have to sit out another year.

I like what Tate did for Michigan. He played his heart out. It's too bad he had academic troubles, nonetheless, I wish him the best.

I like the kid but his present life feels like one long train wreck. I hope he gets things together.
Not what school Tate will pick but if that school even offered him in the first place. How is it that this kid can't even decide on a school yet? The funny thing about Tate is that not only was he trained by Marv Marinovich, but he's starting to go down the same path as Todd Marinovich.

Regardless of your personal opinion of Tate, let's face it, there are still a lot of people interested in where he goes. I agree it's gotten a bit trite, but this was the first mention from a semi-credible, mainstream source that mentioned San Jose State as a possible destination. If you don't want to read the thread, don't click on it.

Wherever he goes, I will try to watch that school's games.
He is an exciting player, sometimes for the other side, but an exciting player none the less.
Has anybody bothered to look at what 'qbforce.com' or whatever it is has to say? I haven't.
Has he been offered?
He has been linked to so many schools but doesn't seem able to land anywhere. Does anyone know if he has been actually offered a spot on any of these teams, or if these leaks are from him and his "camp"? Are his grades that bad that he can't get in anywhere?
I hope he justs picks somewhere, settles down and is successful. I am, however, starting to loose interest.
Best of luck to him wherever he decides to go, but I hope he makes his mind up quick. IMO he should probably stick close to home where his family can be there for him. I really do want the young man to turn it around.
I think he's going to wind up at the same institution Ricky Williams went to during his hiatus from pro football. Seems like a perfect fit.
Is it really transferring after its been @ least 10 months since you've been in school? More like re-applying for admission....
Bad news for Tate, but I suppose this provides some insight into his departure--upon review of his transcripts, according to the Honolulu Star Advertiser, Hawaii decided Tate wasn't a good fit.
