Tampa II* Bowl Open Thread (*Seth approved name for Beef O Brady's)
Hmm. I wonder if this one is even televised.
The Tampa 2 Bowl? Is each defense required to play that coverage?
And btw, WTF is Beef O'Brady anyway?
Applebee's meets BW3, only with (according to their ads from last year's game) terrible food.
Except Applebee's has terrible food too. They just dress it all up with grease and cheese
There was a pretty big discussion about this last year for this game. It was pretty funny, IIRC, so it might be worth looking up.
EDIT: Found it - http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/beef-obradys-bowl-open-thread
My personal favorites are "a poor man's BW3" and "a less fun Bennigan's."
This was last year's-
Don't know if that makes it the third annual Beef O Brady's Bowl thread, or the II Tampa II thread. Just makes it sad. I'm glad I only created one of them; before I clicked on them I thought I may have started all 3.
in that thread makes me sad. A lot of Zone Left, as well.
Is Desmond Howard announcing?
Des and Andre Ware. Weird combo.
looks like shit.
Is it wet or just a crappy field?
They are playing in Tropicana Field which is usually a baseball field. You think with 2 months to get ready they could have done a better job.
....wouldn't people refer to this game as " The Beefening"
It's kind of funny that what they actually do is just vacuum off the dirt. On TV it looks like patches of turf inserted in, but I was on the field about a month ago and was surprised at how they actually do it.
When the lions played the "Tampa 2" I honestly believe their interpretation of that was to either only cover a guy for two yards, OR only cover 2 players...
For those that don't know, two of Jake Ryan's brothers play for Ball St. Connor had 42 catches for 331 yards and 3 TDs, Zach is a FR LB that redshirted this year
3 brothers, 6 first names, tons of football awesomeness.
Three brothers playing D1 football ... pretty impressive. Here are the Cardinals:
It's not *easy* to see the resemblance to Jake, but it's there (at least a little bit).
Didn't know that his dad played at Wake Forest ...
FWIW, The First Row lists this game as the "Saint Petersburg Bowl". That wouldn't be a bad name now, would it?
are we going to have to play on that garbage of a field too?
Why would we play on that?
