Attention Iowa-Michigan Ticket Holders
A few important notes for fans attending Saturday's Homecoming game
Oct. 7, 2009
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- As Saturday's Iowa football game with Michigan nears, there are a few important reminders for those attending.
First and foremost, for the safety and enjoyment of all fans at Kinnick Stadium we encourage and expect respectful, courteous and considerate behavior by celebrating before, during and after the game responsibly.
Because the game will end so late, tailgating and alcohol consumption will not be permitted following the contest. Fan should cease tailgating activities before the end of the 4th quarter and be prepared to leave parking lots and ramps as soon as traffic permits. RV's will be permitted to stay in lots overnight on Saturday. Law enforcement personnel will be present to enforce the no tailgating mandate.
Select University of Iowa parking lots will open at the normal time of 7 p.m. Friday. All other UI parking lots open at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Fans tailgating Friday night on public property are reminded that the possession of an open container of beer or wine or the consumption of hard liquor is prohibited by law.
Fans are reminded to limit tailgating to one parking space and do not block the path for other vehicles to park. Tables, chairs, tents and other tailgating items must be immediately adjacent to the front or rear of the vehicle. Tailgating is not permitted in roadways, parking lot drive lanes or Fire Lanes.
Parking lot patrons may not interfere with or obstruct another guest's vehicle from being parked in a designated parking space. Tailgating items in violation of the policy will be moved or dismantled by law enforcement and or parking lot attendants. Finally, remember to clean the area before departing for the stadium.
Those lucky enough to have tickets are reminded that only small purses and handbags ( 8 ½ X 11), fanny packs, binocular cases, blankets and seat cushions will be allowed in Kinnick Stadium.
Fans are urged to arrive at the stadium early as the usual sellout crowd of 70, 585 is expected. All gates to Kinnick Stadium will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff (7 p.m.).
And, lastly, Go Hawks! and Wear Black!
allowed on IU property
--On game days, only beer and wine are allowed on UI property, including parking lots and ramps. No alcohol of any kind is allowed in Parking Lot 14, at the corner of Melrose and South Grand avenues, which is designated an alcohol-free area.
Even if true for Saturday, that's what water bottles are for! Put the goose in a water bottle, throw it in the cooler.
with grey goose?
Does anybody know if there is any off campus tailgating near the stadium?
