Tailgate Options for Saturday
This is not my first rodeo in AA (been to close to 30 games) but I have heard that the golf course is going to be closed on Saturday.
Anyway, I've done the Pioneer thing many times before and I am ready to go somewhere different. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I just got an e-mail from the athletic dept saying that the "expanded" golf course parking area opens at 7:30am

The new area is across Main from the Pioneer HS stadium. You get in through the driveway of this house: http://bit.ly/kwjGY. We tried it for the ND game and it was a nice spot (and relatively easy to get out afterward).
Of course, parking will be a nightmare if the golf courses are closed this week, which they probably will be unless the forecast changes.

The golf course is closed on Saturday. I've heard there is a alumni event...I could be wrong though.

Scio Church, west off Main St. First driveway on south side following the office park. Very nice crowd, spirited but not flamers, plenty of diverse food options going, and multiple porta potties with no wait. Superior in every way. $10.

boozing outside of a church.

I think he's talking about a house there, not a church, right across from the Pioneer trail back there. My family usually parks there when they go to a game.

Scio Church road, he means.
Runs right down by 94. Long road. Bad road if you're a Schwan's man.

I'm pretty sure the golf course is closed for Ian Hume and John Bacon's ceremony, where they are receiving their honorary Michigan athletic letters.

right before the church on Ann Arbor Saline Rd (if you're heading toward the stadium.) Big house on left across from the grocery store. Their little area in front open up to a ginormous area designated for tailgating. $20 and tons of fun.
