Surprise play by who tomorrow?

Submitted by myantoniobass … on

This thread is predicting who will make an unexpected big play for us tomorrow?  Odoms at WR?  Cam Gordon if he's back?  Devin Gardner?

I'll go with Martavious Odoms with a big TD catch tomorrow.  He's been injured, and the three WRs in front of him have looked good.  Brian noted in the UFR his presence tips run.  But we tipped run the first few games with Jeremy Jackson at WR and whenever Denard audibles by hitting his helmet.

I forsee #9 pulling in a big TD catch.  The senior has healed up and looked quick on those kick returns.

Which of our non-starters to date do you see making a big play tomorrow?

Following a Michigan score Josh Furman either forces a fumble or recovers a fumble on kickoff coverage setting up another Michigan score.  Then the rout is on.

Interception on a long bomb by Cousins to Cunningham.

Also, not sure if they'll unleash it this game or OSU but Devin will throw a bomb to Denard for a 50-70 yard TD.

Surprise Play: 10 man front. Pure Smackmouth football....  Pistol snap to Denard, o-line snaps forward, Denard picks his hole. Snap, Run, Repeat.... Old-fashioned. Not even single wing, single rusher. Will prove our best 11 can whip their best 11 pure grind-it-out football.

shouldn't be a total surprise, but I've got a feeling Roy Roundtree doubles his productivity to date tomorrow.

Some predictions:

(1) 'Tree: 8 catches, 120 yards, GW TD catch(!)

(2) Denard: 20-35 passing, 300 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTS (hard time on the ground: 12 carries, ~50yds, but scores on a goal-line series.

(3) Shaw: 8 carries, 50 yards and a TD (most productive of the backs)

(4) MSU frustratingly moves the ball up and down the field. We even the turnover battle at 2 on a tipped-ball Kovacs INT and a fumble recovery. Cousins completes two thirds of his passes for 250+ yards.

(5) M 31, MSU 27

[Scoring Sequence:]

1q: MSU 7, M 0 [Cunningham 25 yard TD from Cousins on opening drive]

1q: M 3, MSU 7 [Gibbons nails a 35 yard FG as M's first drive sputters]

2q: MSU 14, M 3 [Tailback du jour (Baker or Bell) pounds it in on the goal-line after a long drive]

2q: MSU 17, M 3 [M's defense holds MSU to 40 yd FG after crippling Denard int #1]

2q: M 10, MSU 17 [Denard scores on the goal-line to end the half]

3q: MSU 24, M 10 [Cunningham 20 yard TD from cousins after crippling Denard int #2]

3q: M 17, MSU 24 [Koger 10 yard TD from Denard after RVB causes a fumble as MSU drives]

4q: MSU 27, M 17 [MSU responds with a clockeating FG drive to start the 4th Q]

4q: M 24, MSU 27 [Mike Shaw scores on an 8 yd run with 6 minutes to go]

4q: M 31, MSU 27 [Kovacs picks off a tipped ball as MSU threatens to add to their lead, Denard leads M down the field, hitting Roundtree for a 25 yd TD with 45 seconds to go].

Yeah. I feel a frustrating, ND-esque game unfolding tomorrow. We'll see. there will be lots of good with the bad.
