Support your team!

Submitted by B1G_Fan on

We've all been down this year. Both our team and our fans have been beaten up this year but, it's time for all the doubters to get on board and support this football team. It's not about Borges, Hoke, Gardner or the O line, it's about the team. These kids are talented, they're trying and they are good enough to win this game. We need your help, go to the game, be loud and be positive. At the end of the day at least you'll know you as a fan gave it everything you had to support The University of Michigan Wolverines Football team.

 More so than ever!

They can throw out all those great backs and great quarterbacks and great defensive players throughout the country and in this conference. But there’s going to be one team that is going play solely as a team. No man is more important than the team. No coach is more important than the team. THE TEAM! THE TEAM! THE TEAM! And if we think that way, all of us, everything that you do you take into consideration what effect does it have on my team? Because you can go into professional football, you can go anywhere you want to play after you leave here, you will never play for a team again. You’ll play for a contract. You’ll play for this. You’ll play for that. You’ll play for everything except the team. And think what a great thing it is to be a part of something that is THE TEAM! We’re going to win it. We’re going to win the championship again because we’re going to play as a team better than anyone else in the conference. We’re going to play together as a TEAM. We’re going to believe in each other. We’re not going to criticize each other. We’re not going to talk about each other. We’re going to encourage each other! And when we play as a team, when the old season is over, you and I know it’s going to be Michigan again. Michigan!

Tickets to cheaters than sell your season tickets. I whine but I've missed a handful of games over the past 30 years. Put up or shut up. The people in front or behind you will forever know you lack true Michigan character . Yah, make some money on stubhub .... I guess we will see you when we can all pump your ego up with wins since your life has no other sound basis

C'mon Hoke ... show some fuckin anger & get this team fired up!!! Hoke - put on the headset & call some O plays yourself also - fuck that idiot Borges! If you dont know the plays Hoke - just tell the receivers to get open. Cant be any worse than runnin Green into a stacked box.

Put Shane in if offense is going bad - & put Gardner at wideout on one side & Funchess on the other ...w Fitz & Dileo in slots ... Green in backfield. Shotgun the whole time also.

I stopped going to Michigan games when I couldn't find a section where cheering loudly for your team was acceptable. The one time I was fortunate enough to sit in the student section I was in heaven. Aside from the student section it really is the quietest 115,000 in football.

I'm sure it's not like that all around the stadium but just how I feel from my previous visits.

Does anyone have a section or area that's a little younger and a little more up tempo? Thank you

You weren't happy with the noise level of other people?  Or you got yelled at?  Do you swear?  My section has people who cheer and yell things (not swearing stuff) and they are fine.  I'm confused as to what happened to you that you stopped going.

Also, what other 115,000 in football can you compare it to?  just wondering.

You were "fortunate enough to sit in the student section..." ONCE?

How many games have you actually been to?  And how did your Michigan fandom become so fanatical, that you simply can't stand going to the games at all, because of insufficient fanatacism all around you?

I don't understand any of this.  I think you must be making it up.  You could buy a ticket for almost any game, and if you put your mind to it, I'd imagine that you could find a way to get into the student section (you did it once, you say) and enjoy yourself in whatever fashion you deem fitting.

Or buy yourself some season tickets in Row 99.  And stand up as much as you want and yell as much as you want.  I'm really mystified by someone who says that they "stopped going to Michigan games" because the atmosphere was insufficiently rowdy.  So you do what; stay at home and watch on tv?!?

I'll be there, supporting my team, and those kids who bust their ass week in and week out for their school, for each other, and for all of us. This season hasn't gone the way we've wanted it to, but there's a lot to play for on Saturday. And I'm not talking about our pride and dignity.

Okay, well maybe that. But this is for the seniors, this is to gain some momentum back in the rivalry, and most importantly, this is to ruin any chance OSU has of going to the national championship. Can you imagine the pure sense of euphoria we'd all feel, and more importantly, the players would feel, after pulling something like that off? To send those asswipes back to Columbus wondering what could've been? If that doesn't motivate this team, nothing ever will.

We may not win on Saturday, but I expect this team to play its best game. Hoke, for all his supposed flaws, knows what this game means. He knows how important it is, and he's not oblivious to OSU's recent dominance in this game. I bet he more than any of us wants to turn that around. He will have the team ready to go. I hope we come out ready to punch those P.O.S's in the throat, and leave no doubt in their minds that if they want to beat us, they're going to have to fucking earn that win.

Clark? What you did to Braxton Miller last year? Do it again. Hit him hard, hit him often. Drill his ass into the ground. Make him earn every single yard. JMFR, same goes for you, good sir.

As I said, we may not win on Saturday, but if we make them earn the right to walk out of Ann Arbor with a W, well, at this stage, I can live with that.

I'm a '91 grad and was finally motivated to make my first post. Ive been back to AA at least once every year since I graduated and every year I not only value my degree more and more but also the amazing opportunity I had to go to such a phenomenal university. I'm headed to yost and the big house this weekend (and down to Duke a few days later for that matter) to support our team and to NOT take any shit off of any Buckeyes while I'm there! Inside I might be torn apart by what is going on with the team but I'm never going to give those misbegotten savages the satisfaction of seeing me boo my own team or acting sorry that I am a wolverine for life. Let's show them what we can do this weekend dammit!

I'll be there for sure. This game at the big house happens every other year...whether UM is good or bad or the odds are in our favor or against our team why not try to enjoy it? Sh*t if you only go when you know we'll win or when UM is good you may only enjoy a home game once every 6 years or so.

Pardon my language but many UM fans are spoiled little whiny assholes. Hell I live in the heart of columbus (in all fairness it's really a great city outside of osu) and it sucks being around these fans. I'm gladly going to go up there and go to the game and cheer like hell for UM.

I was there two years ago and the place was fucking rocking
