For data viz and technology fans, www.nowtbg.com is a Super Bowl site developed by a software startup to track the game and reactions in real-time.

Full disclosure, I am related to someone in the company, but watching the maps and ad-leaderboard is pretty cool.

Go Patriots.

I haven't been this excited about a Super Bowl since the Skins were in it - not sure why.  I guess because I think these are the two best teams with immense talent on both sides of the football.  I predict a barnburner extraordinaire, much like the Seahawks-Packers game.

I'm watching from my living room.

I should be on a plane from Phoenix to Chicago, but those plans got hammered by (a) snow in Chicago, and (b) both Tucson and Phoenix were completely fogged in this morning.

My heart is with the Patriots because of Brady, but I think Seattle has the mojo going.

All I can say is that if what is going on here around Detroit is similar to Chicago, then you definitely don't want to be here right now, at least if you're not a fan of snow and two foot drifts (and increasing). I've shoveled myself out five times already today and will probably do it a few more times during and after the Super Bowl.

I used to like snow.  The occasional blizzard was a good time.  Then I got older.

Air travel is fine when the system works.  Air travel sucks when there's a major disruption to a hub city like Chicago.  Disrupt two hub citiies (Chicago and Phoenix) and ... ughh.

Screw it ... I canceled the business meeting in Chicago.  Probably the right thing anyway since it was downtown and a lot of people would be coming in from the 'burbs.  Likely a mess driving for a day or two.

Patriots win 3-1 in my book.

Patriots have:

1. Tom Brady

2. Alan Branch

3. Cam Gordon

Seahawks:

1. Steve Schilling

but i hate how everyone has to sing our national anthem in their own way.  Just sing the song and get off the stage- it's not about you

It is about them and their own singing style. You don't invite superstars to sing the National Anthem like a robot. They want to put their spin on it. No big deal.

First big tactical decision of the game. And as I say that the Pats decide to decline the penalty. Guess we won't see what Belichek does with 4th and 1 close to midfield.

How the hell does Game of War, a freemium app, afford a Super Bowl commercial? Are there really that many dumb people buying in-app purchases for them to shell out a few million on a commercial?
