The more I watch football, the more I think that it's really just a contest between the offensive and defensive lines.

Then I started hearing all the talk about if Peyton wins, it will arguably make him the greatest QB ever. I'm like, what about Unitas, Brady, Starr, Elway, etc. so, I decided to cheer for the Seahawks.

Thank you.  I am such a good faker, considering I praise Beilen considerably.  The football program is way below par for this program and you can continue to clap and ignore that Michigan fan would love to have success Dantonio has had the past 4 years.

p.s. I will rip on MSU bball next year a lot when I think their team will be a flop. :)

You actually are a good faker, and I do have to give you credit for that.  You've been here almost two years, have "alum" in your name as well as an SI cover of a victorious Michigan, allowing you to pretty much evade suspicion (although several posters called you out on it during FB season).

It is an interesting debate because the NFL has changed the rules to emphasize offense so much from the 80s.   Much harder to be a dominant defense nowadays.  Plus much harder to keep your team together with free agency now vs 80s.

The remarkable thing is how little money Seattle has in its defense.  They gave Harvin a  boatload of money and I think they have like one or two guys at $5-$6M on the defense, and the rest of those guys make like $1-$3M.  I think Avril is one of their highest paid guys in fact.GOing to lose a bunch of them in free agency the next few years but the drafting is fantastic.  It is a very young defense to boot.
