The change was 079...compared to UTL II, the place seemed a bit unfilled.
I also sat across from the student section and It looked to me like it was almost completely full shortly after kickoff.

The Wow Experience requires that the stadium appear to be full at all times. Don't you know what kind of damage a little band of empty seats can do to the brand?

The students will come. They can't bear to be disconnected from the net.

of impact having Jake Ryan back on the field will make. Seems like it might be one of those moves where a couple guys slide over into their intended positions instead of playing out of their comfort zone.
Plus JAKE RYAN!!!

I'd guess that if the whole stadium was GA, and everyone got compressed down toward the field like the student section is, then the whole stadium would probably look similar to that at kickoff.
Also, I StubHub'd my tickets, as did most of the people sitting around me yesterday. That isn't available to the students, right? I'd bet if people weren't able to resell their tickets there would be many bigger holes in the attendance each week.
Maybe we should just lay off the students for a while?

Because of the GA policy, it looks worse than it is. Students compress towards the lower rows. Also, I'm not sure the GA policy incentivizes students to show up in time. Would you rather continue to tailgate a bit longer and not wait in line, then be 5-10 minutes past kickoff or would you rather go stand in line just to make the kickoff?
Purely speculation on my part, but that may be some of it.

This is unrelated but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a video of the short Dhani Jones' "Lets get fired up" video they've played at the games recently. It makes me laugh everytime. Thanks

I like the o-line shake up. Glasgow had a good, if quiet, day at center and Bryant looked good pulling around and sealing guys. He had some issues targeting guys at points, the first play might have been a TD if he released and took the safety instead of blocking the LB the FB was already blocking. He also faded late, allowing guys to get under him and push him back at the end of the game. Overall a positive development though.

graded out on Brian's UFR. Considering he was going against a future NFL draft pick I thought he did really well.

Still a bit frustrated by teams getting big 3rd and longs against our defense. I really think the D should not have let MN go on the 1st QTR long time consuming drive. 2nd half was played better. Offense sputtered on a couple of drives. I thought the first half score should have been 21-3, and the final being 48-10 with some mop up opportunities for the backups. The positives are the stiffer 2nd half defense and I like the way the O line dominated the trenches during the 3rd quarter. If we can keep improving by the MSU game I think we will have a real chance to top MSU on the road and NU on the road, though both these games will tight. I think we will be psyched to play OSU at home and if they're ranked 2nd or 3rd in the country it will really be great to beat them in the big house!
