Are you worried that Denard has struggled throwing the ball?

How do YOU get Denard's passing game going?

What is your favorite asset about yourself?

A little bit perhaps. Not enough to commit seppuku, if that's where you're going with this

Keep putting him in situations where he has to pass. Practice makes (nearly) perfect, right?

Changing my middle name to "Gorgeous" has made me infinitely more popular.

Yes, he is struggling because he is being asked to do things that he's not good at, such as deep throws.

I would call bubble screens, RB screens, slants, hitches, crossing patterns with Gallon and Grady, play-action fake dive seam passes to Dileo and Roundtree, first down throws -- anything within 10-15 yards, PLEASE. Last I heard, the West Coast offense was filled with these types of plays which then allowed the the receivers to get Yards After Catch. I didn't know the WCO was really one deep bomb after another.

My ability to second guess offensive playcalling is quite profound.

agree 100%. More plays in the short passing game, more across the middle, but also, DR is trying to put waaaay too much touch on the ball. He can zip it; enough with the touch throws, get him comfortable with patterns where he can keep it down and sling it. Agree with your pattern calls 100% BlueInDallas.

I don't think this is the problem. How many deep balls did we throw the last two weeks? I think you can count them on one hand. The one game we did throw a bunch of them (ND), several were completed.

If you go back and watch the last three games, a lot of our incompletions have come on "easy" throws. It's not like Denard is money on certain throws and terrible on others; he's been generally inconsistent across the board.

Here's what my inner Borges is currently thinking:

"What are those...is that sausage? **Sniff**...hmm, could be sausage...

Oh, Denard! Didn't notice it was first down. Let's call a keeper kthx."

I don't mind the I-form, but I don't like Denard dropping straight back in any formation. I'd rather him bootleg, jab-step, screen, or throw back. You need to move Denard first to get the defense out of position, then his WR will be more open for easier throws.

No

Start with more short routes (hitches, slants, arrows, seams) to get him in rhythm early/get his footwork in order on shorter drops.

My pad level and arm length.

No, he wins games for us, and there is no better player to bring you a 4th quarter miracle.

Lots of runs and lots of short passes in the 1st quarter to get him flowing, and to get the defense on its heels.

I'm Gorgeous.

I love how you ask a few simple questions that have somewhat of a negative connotation and you get negged to high hell on this board.

The premise of this thread was simple: Everyone is complaining about Denard's passing on this board and in every thread...okay, stop complaining, what would YOU do to help or change the situation?

Thanks to those who actually answered the question(s).

I actually like the topic. My thoughts:

1. Yes I am worried. Denard cannot pass well this year, he is makin poor decisions (not new) and he is clearly struggling with the new offense.

2. I would stick to the easy, high percentage, move the chains type of passing to get him some comfort. Also, keep running him. Makes teams key in on stacking the box and opens easier passes.

3. I would be most worried about which finger to wear my 2011 b10 championship and 2012 national championship rings on.

1. I am most definately worried. Passing the ball consistently is the only way the offense will be effective against good defenses.

2. Keep focusing on mechanics and decision making.
