Suitable hs grad gift?
What do you guys think? Even if it's something he takes out of town and just hangs above his dorm room bed he will atleast have a good story to share (with what I assume are ladies).
gave my sister a 5th of vodka. it could have even been burnetts. I think I got a little nicer. Who knows? I was hammered at her grad party.
I think you'd be fine--once you hit the men's leagues, half of the game is drinking. But up to you.

Yes, because that's the only thing a 23-year-old can be interested in.
of "should" as opposed to "can."
Yes good idea. Small flat screen tv is also nice. When I graduated, I got so many Cross brand pen and pencil sets. I wondered back then even what the hell was I going to do with those, and the answer was nothing.
Suitable, maybe not. But useful, yes....
The OP didn't give enough info to assume "yes". Gotta stick with "maybe" given what we know.
go with her pleasure
I recently got my sister a nice diploma frame her campus bookstore sold, but that's college. My HS diploma sits in a box which is probably true for a lot of people.
In general I try to go for a nicer version of something they use regularly than they're willing to buy for themselves. It's imaginative enough to require some actual thought, but the risk of completely flopping is low.
But unless your brother buys a lot of flags that doesn't really apply. Just saying what I usually do.
If you're just looking for feedback on your gift, I think it's good for the same reason you do: it's something with a story.

Your graduation ceremony is June 25th? Damn that's late.
I imagine the ages were reversed in this scenario though...
Keepin' it real, while keeping it safe!

Wasn't this some idea that some schoolchildren came up with, but which didn't consider the social/scientific/commercial shortfalls?

Cool idea and unique gift. It's not something you have to worry about him "using" day in day out and it can be put up anywhere.

I got luggage too. Considering I have been to 40 states and 4 continents, it was a good gift.
Candle stick holders always make a nice gift. Ok let's get two!

Cash, Cash, Beer, or Cash.... How is having a full time job relevant in your decision not to booze? SMH...
Also - dont get him a Leatherman multi-tool ...think about what YOU WANTED when you were 18. Cash man - let him choose what he wants to spend it on.

a night at the strip club.
If he isnt a fan Im not sure he is going to love it. I would love that gift but I am a huge fan.
I would go with a sign/plaque that says "you can never go home again."
I've always loved that saying.
