O/U the number of time Thom Brennaman says Tim Tebow's name is 1,856,948,376
Sugar Bowl Thread
Relax. Turn it into a drinking game and you will have more fun. And you will out for the count before having to watch Tebow crying at the end.
If I did that I'd be passed out halfway during Florida's first drive.
I can only imagine the UF love-fest we are in store for tonight after the Meyer saga of the last week.
Prepare to puncture your ear drums!
the game. This game is in good hands now.
Maybe there's been a threat and Jack Bauer is in the house. Bauer could take Tebow IMO.
I think that's a little low.
Tebow hype more than Pryor hype.
Tebow is a better player and a better individual.
Just because one guy thinks everybody kills and the other actually helps to save starving children DOES NOT make one better than the other.
Why does Fox covering college bowl games suck. I just don't like it, ABC wipes the floor with Fox's coverage.
Fox's coverage is horrible.
I'm glad the BCS will be going to espn.
It is unlistenable, and mostly unwatchable. It will be unwatchable, if Florida starts to put Cinci away.
There oughta be a law -- no college football in domed stadia, and no college football on Fox.
This is puke-worthy with or without excessive alcohol.
Anybody also notice the difference in color contrasts on TV? The Rose Bowl looked gorgeous with rich, saturated colors. FOX + Stadium lighting just looks ugly.
There is no way Cincinnati wins this game. It does not look like a good match up. I'll be cheering for the Bearcats though.
Two late shoves by UF and they got called on it. Good
is like an Arctic bear cat with these all white unis - never seen them wear white helmets before.
the P10 refs are calling everything.
Fox, worldwide leader in Tim Tebow.
Click at your own risk on the above link. I made the mistake and wish I could have the 20 seconds backs of my life that I watched Tebow just stand on the sideline
for the Bearcats!!
Dude's arm buckled then he took a knee. Damn.
What the hell was that about? Officials aren't wasting anytime in throwing the game.
That WAS awful. I don't know what the rules are about that situation, but how do you expect a defense to react when a whistle sounds just before the snap? Horrible.
I'm not sure Cinci is going to be able to put up points on this Gator D.
That's what they get for not allowing Tebow to kick.
flee flicker fail
I like the call. Cincy is going to need to use everything in their playbook.
I really do hate Urban Meyer, Florida, Brandon Spikes, and FOX's CFB coverage. That is all.
Frankly I don't hate him. Michigan beat him, so that's in his favor. Also, he seems to be a good guy. Although, he did attempt to justify Spikes' eye-gouging, so perhaps I should reconsider.
but Fox needs to ditch Brennaman.
I'm glad they didn't bring back Barry Alvarez - that was a smart decision.
Florida defense is too strong - Cinci very well could get blown out if this keeps up.
It is going to be tough for Cincy to move the ball with Florida getting to line up in the neutral zone everytime.
Aaron Hernandez is the go-to guy in this offense!!!! Jebus
likes to ride it "long and deep"
16-0 This is going to get out of hand. Cinci needs to use
Tebow's handclap and time some blitzes. He claps every
offense play, I can't hear a cadence, and it's always the
same time interval after the clap the ball is hiked.
score here the rout is on.
Both teams look flat. Florida is very talented and flat. This game is like leftover champagne compared to the earlier games.
I was into the the earlier games this is just meh.
Sugar bowl has sucked as of late with the low point being Georgia destroying Hawaii.
Florida looks "flat" with the way they've played. They look like they are completely taking care of business on both sides of the football. Withstood whatever emotional edge Cincinnati had to start the game and are now dominating the game.
Both teams look flat. Florida is very talented and flat. This game is like leftover champagne compared to the earlier games.
Uh, this game looks to get horrendously ugly right about now.
That's OK, I have football fatigue anyway.
Long gain and a horse collar tackle. Looks to me like I'll be getting this pick right
Cincinnati is completely overmatched physically. This is very reminiscent of Hawaii-UGA a few years back (not quite as bad, but not good either).
At this point I just want to see Iowa slam Georgia Tech to round out a great Big 10 bowl season. It turns out the conference is pretty damn good when we don't have to play SC powerhouse teams in the Rose Bowl.
Please PLEASE make this a good Cinci possession
sighting on special teams.
From ND's starting QB to special teams player for Cincinnati - funny how things work out.
Hello, Burn Notice recordings.
where are the people who said the big east is better than the big ten before the season?
these bowl performances (wvu, cinci, ohio st, penn st, northwestern) beg to differ
Anybody that dumb probably eats his own feces.
I mean, I even give her table scraps. What the hell is she thinking? Must be some type of dog delicacy.
Cinci is just throwin balls up for grabs...doesnt look like they are really into the game emotionally, with the whole Kelly situation.
there's some emotion for ya.
So those are seats behind the Cincy bench like where the band is but on the other side of the 50. My question is, who the hell would want to sit there. Nothing like trying to watch a football but having nothing but the backs of a bunch of 6'3" 250lbs guys standing in your way. But seriously anything that is on the other side of the 50 than they are I don't think they can see.
Oh wait, damn it all.
of these teams showing some great class.
Quit jawing and play football.
I mean, it really got out of hand fast.
Hicks killed a guy!
What the hell is Brian Billick wearing. Black button up, white tie, and blue shirt.
What time do the games start tomorrow?
The entire Bearcat team will be better for having spent time with Tim Tebow
get shut out.
But it is clear that Cinci is not in the same league as Florida.
Let me be the first non-Cincy fan to tell you to go fuck yourself.
When he left CMU it was all the same. Saying how much he loves it and wants to stay, and then bolts before the Bowl game.
Butch Jones to Cinci isn't as harsh because he was up front that he's looking at UC. Kelly's a tool.
this is looking eerily like Michigan vs. Baby Seal U
also, I take a small solace in knowing that "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!" sounds a LOT better than when used by the Gators
That's what most blowouts look like
I was really hoping that this game would at least be competitive after the disappointing Rose Bowl. It seems like that ship has sailed.
I'm just waiting for FOX to censor the content of this game. This looks like a freaking episode of Oz.
Does breaking it off in Cincinnati's ass count as Tebow losing his virginity?
a Texas missed field goal from seeing these guys play Alabama?
Yes, but would BK have stayed?
Anyone here the "Its Great to be a Florida Gaa-aator" chant?
Don't think they have the right number of syllables to pull that one off.
But they did it first.
You stay classy, UF. Keep passing and continue the bludgeoning.
Cue the slurping.
Florida is playing an undefeated, top 5 team from a conference that gets an automatic BCS berth in a BCS bowl game. This is not a situation where they should have to let off the gas (especially before halftime). Frankly, the only reason to keep watching this game (on mute) is to see how many points the Gators can put up against these guys.
Aside from the Rodriguez teams at WVU, has the Big East won anything since Miami, Va Tech, and BC left?
There's no running up the score in a BCS game, ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST HALF. It's not like Cinci hasn't come from behind big deficits and lit teams up this year offensively.
Call off the dogs or just keep pounding away on a clearly over-matched group of college athletes?
I think now you start emptying the bench, but I wouldn't change the system/style of play. Give the backups (especially seniors) a shot at a cool bowl game memory.
Unfortunately, Urban clearly is not reflective and hasn't changed his ways at all over the last week or so.
Not only that, it is dumb/selfish (depending on whether Meyer is coaching next year). Tebow is never playing at Florida again. This game is in the bag so they should be getting the next/new guy time in preparation for next season.
I could see it coming before the half and might have jumped the gun a little with my original post, but I had no doubt that this was what lied ahead in the second half.
should put Collaros in at QB just for a change of pace. What do they have to lose at 30-3?
we haven't seen him yet.
this game becomes somewhat watchable in the second half. A QB change could provide a bit of an offensive spark.
Who heard that gem that the announcers threw out? Basically criticized people for ripping on Tebow when people make fun of him and the media obsession.
oh god now they are talking about how much wrong criticism Tebow gets, and how even they are guilty of Tebowoizing from "time to time"
seriously this game as a whole makes me want to blundgeon something until it is unrecognizable
A coach given a contract that soon proves to be just circumstance & luck?
A team is like an ocean liner. It doesn't all of a sudden forget everything the coach taught & put in place. See Bobby Williams MSU win over Florida in the 99 season & Bill Stewart's WVU win over Oklahoma in the 07 season.
Too bad I don't believe any of that. I suspect it's just a Cinci letdown
Tebow has 300 yards already.
The Cinci D is worse than I thought.
OMFG and now they are talking about how unfair it is for BK
the commentating is more out of hand than the score board
And what is the deal with the announcers wishing Brian Kelly could be coaching - he left for ND, he has no business coaching this game.
I turned off my TV when one of the announcers said he was surprised when he first met Tebow.. he was surprised by how big and physical he was.. "such a specimen.. this is a MAN.." he said..
and put on the tunes. Started talking about how wrong it is that so many people criticize them and junk. HULK SMASH!
Well, your perspective must be skewed when you're on your knees looking up at someone, right?
Wanna bet that Urban Meyer runs up the score to 55-3 or something like that?
what a douche..
this is a BCS game, this is not playing Delaware State.
If undefeated #3 Cinci can't stop the Gators, too bad.
is getting in on the Pryor lovefest.
I new good old Eddie would do some honking for his Bucks - what happened to fair and balanced reporting?
is Brian Kelly really this good? Or was Cincy overrated.
their schedule was rather easy, I think they have been exposed.
Big East was overrated..
The only teams with a pulse that they beat were WVU and Pitt..
WVU sucks and Pitt is meh.. USF was overrated at the time they played them..
Pair Pitt, WVU, and USF against Wisco, N'western, and Penn State and the Big 10 goes 3-0 against them. Cinci is an 8-4 team in the big ten...
Linemen don't forget blocking fundamentals as soon as their coach is gone. Cinci is getting man-handled in the trenches.
The Space Emperor continues to be awesome and grace our presence. Easily the best part of this game
Now we know why Kelly left for Notre Dame...
Why does Meyer need a break? This coaching thing is easy!
Does it seem if the New Year's Day games are good, the game that night always blows?
lol.. it's not that easy when you're bent over with Saban and his crimson tide right behind you.
And it's a picture that will give me nightmares.
"Not going to ease up despite the score". Ai-yi-yi.
What is Britney doing with her life?
If Florida is this good how great is Alabama?
Florida is this good so much as Cincinnati really was Brian Kelly.
they've been taught?
See Bobby Williams MSU win over Fla in the 99 season Citrus Bowl and Bill Stewart's WVU win over Okla in the 07 season.
Now, maybe this situation is different if the Cinci players felt betrayed.
What I meant was that this is the end of an era for Cinci and EVERYONE knows it. All of those coaches are going somewhere else and some frankly have other schools and jobs on their mind. Maybe Brian Kelly could have held that together for another month had he stayed to coach this game--I don't know. I think the players' bitterness was, as much as anything, a realization to how important he was to Cinci football.
For all UF's issues there is still quite a bit of stability on the staff. Adazzio will be the head coach in the offseason which, from what I've heard, was warmly received by the players.
The Alabama team you reference is the same one that just barely squeaked by Auburn. Auburn didn't exactly manhandle Northwestern.
Cinci = Over Rated.
how Tebow's throwing motion would cost him in the NFL and one announcer sounded deeply offended at the other's comments.
For anyone at all still interesting, Cinci actually scored a TD. Just a few more to go /sarcasm
well, 5 poss.
I wish Ahmad Black and Janoris Jenkins were on our team.
Nice cheap shot on the punt there by the Gators. Gald to see the kid isn't hurt to bad. I can't watch this anymore
Did it really happen? I find this hard to believe. I mean, surely the Florida player has spent 15 minutes with Tim Tebow.
aka the 4th quarter.
Great catch by Binns.
17-44 is slightly less depressing
Sorry for the off-thread topic post, but I just noticed it myself during this 44-17 garbage time
are showing why people have disdain for them. 44-17 still passing with all 1st teamers still in the game.
I would probably find it mildly amusing to see Tebow get hurt running up the score in his last game...
But the martyrdom by the press would make getting hung up on a cross look mild.
Yes, I'm a bad person.
Urban calls time out before the kickoff.
3:05 TT finally is pulled.
Meyer sure was matter of fact in that interview about staying. It just seems like lip service to quiet the media specualtion and help recruiting though.
A tribute. Cincinnati was completely exposed as a fraudulent team whose perfect record is a product of poor competition and luck needed even with poor competition (see Pitt, Uconn and Illinois games). It also exposed Brian Kelly as an overrated coach who was at the right place at the right time with pathetic conference competition and luck going his way. Just look at the players out there. Cincinnati was clearly outmatched physically, especially on defense, where a less than stellar offense lit them up. Kelly had time to bring in his players but failed to deliver on the recruiting front. I think we can put to rest any fears some of you alleged Michigan fans have about how Brian Kelly is going to run Rich Rod out of town starting with an upset next year. I've been critical of Rich Rod, he's made mistakes. But he isn't going to lose his job to this hapless coach.
The only positive from yesterday is the laughingstock ND will become under Kelly. No OC, no healthy QB until the summer at the earliest, no defense, no recruiting. I expect a comfortable victory next year.
1. The less than stellar offense was being run by someone who has never done it before, and who is probably already left.
2. If you think the recruits he will get at ND will be of the same quality as his Cinci recruits, there is something wrong with you.
3. Kelly is the OC.
yeah.. umm.. Rich Rod got as far as Kelly did in the same conference as Kelly did....
food for thought
Tebow topped Vince Young's total yards for a bowl game...
