Maize stripe

I like the jerseys, but I am loving Koger's twitter handle.
December 15th, 2011 at 7:48 PM ^
I still prefer the classic late 90s, early 2000s away jerseys with the block M on the shoulders. Classic. Wish we still had Nike, although I would not like to see the pro combats on Michigan players
December 16th, 2011 at 7:48 AM ^
They would probably give us Bronze wings on the helmet and a more royal blue, or maybe even darker.
LOL at Sparty for having bronze as one of their new colors. MSU: Green/White/Bronze
December 15th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
Just love this group of players... What a great bunch of guys...
December 15th, 2011 at 7:53 PM ^
I think the jerseys should use the same font as the numbers on the helmets. Also, the numbers on the helmets should be the SAME color as the wings! It drives me crazy when I watch the games in HD.
No matter...GO BLUE in NOLA!
December 15th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
The details make the difference.
I agree with you. It should be common sense,on both points.
December 15th, 2011 at 10:59 PM ^
Probably has to do with the helmet numbers being a decal and the wings are painted. I disagree with you about the helmet number font though, I don't think it would look good on the jerseys. Too much like an NFL font. I'd like to see the bowl jerseys with the regular block number font.

Denard likes it. End of discussion.
December 15th, 2011 at 7:55 PM ^
I love them more I see then. Plus having denard's smile doesn't hurt either.
December 15th, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
No stripes, no piping, why is this so difficult? The road jersey needs to be changed to Hanes undershirts with personalized marker on them. This isn't necessarily a DB thing because our road jerseys have changed a lot over the years. I just wish they would stay with the basics.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:18 PM ^
White jerseys with blue numbers and nothing more, keep it simple.

But Denard seems pleased, so I think we're OK.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:02 PM ^
I like simple and clean so here is my suggestion. Solid white jersey, with maize numbers and a blue block M on the right side of the chest. Maybe blue lettering for names on the back or no names at all.
No stripes, no piping, no outlined numbers, nothing on the shoulders or sleeves.
I figure our home jerseys are simple and clean so why not our road jerseys?
Can anyone else picture it?
December 15th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
May be a bit tough to see, no?
December 15th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
I do recommend blue lettering for the names on the back to make it easier to read.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
That sounds good to me as someone who likes basic or classic jerseys. Except I don't really mind the outlined numbers, I think that's ok. Good logic on the comparison between home and away jerseys.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:09 PM ^
May God have mercy on the soul of the guilty man that negged a picture of Denard smiling.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
Also, if u use to finger to block out the majority of denard's dreadlocks u got the spitting image of desmond

you can double post anytime you like
December 15th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
I wouldnt be opposed to those becoming our full time roadies
December 15th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
Just no white pants.
December 15th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
Yes white pants please.
December 15th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
White Pants.
Signed,
Teams 115 to 132
December 15th, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
Agreed. I like the look, could even get used to seeing those on the road full-time. Like others have said though, no white pants.
Something unrelated... anyone have a good suggestion for a flag for the house??? I bought the one from the link below, but it is terrible. It came to the house, and the "M" is not Michigan maize. It's more gold, like Missouri's color on the Navy--brutal in person.
We're in Houston, so I can't really see any in person. I was hoping for some MGo help. I'm trying to get one for our new house to fly on gameday!

PICK AN AWAY JERSEY!!!!
end rant.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
Uh, didn't our seniors just do that?
December 15th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
I think most of the ANGAR (myself included) doesn't come from this jersey, but more from the lack of a consistent away uniform this year. And at no point was that worse than @Sparty with the bumblebees.
This uniform is classy, but I hope it gets promoted from "alternate" to "away" and is so successful that it obliterates all other white jerseys we've seen like a wolverine obliterates its prey.
December 15th, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
letting the seniors pick the jersey (road game or not) is a slippery slope. We are Oregon.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:51 PM ^
design pov, let alone Herbert Hoover's 1950s.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:55 PM ^
I guess it's not as terrible as the mden's artist rendering. It benefits immensely from Denard smiling though.
December 15th, 2011 at 8:58 PM ^
But I'd like to see Winged Epaulets with the stripes running laterally to the collar.
December 15th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
I'll decide if our jerseys were ugly after I find out who won the Sugar Bowl.
December 15th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
You think if we email DB or Mark Riordan(marketing ad) that we could get these changed to the normal away uniforms?
December 15th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
I'm admittedly liking them more... the front is still too busy, but then again the bowl jerseys almost always seem to be too busy somewhere
December 15th, 2011 at 10:46 PM ^
Looks like Techfit which means the entire O and D lines will switch back to the 2010 jerseys with the piping on them at halftime.
Also, why 2 stripes? That's so arbitrary. Put the blue stripes all the way up the shoulders (like the UTL stripes were.... but not with maize in between them like the jerseys for the MSU game) and make the font of the numbers the same style it usually is, and those are pretty sweet jerseys.
December 17th, 2011 at 1:00 AM ^
The first thing I thought when I saw the UTL jerseys was "why on the classic homes?" They're good looking and could be iconic but our home jerseys are already great - and the home unifrom really hasn't changed since 1938. The roadies, on the other hand, have changed always, and had that terrible yellow piping the last few years. If they stuck with an-UTL style look, I think I'd be okay with it, if it was as you describe it.
Instead they went bumblebee against Sparty and then went "alternates" against Tech. If they pick a look stick with it. And the look you describe would be unique and I think still classy.
December 15th, 2011 at 10:54 PM ^
I think they're pretty sharp... I'd probably get one if there was a women's slimmer cut version in stores. Overall, the players seem amped about it, so I'm amped for them!
December 15th, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
Junior Hemingway is gonna look like a NASCAR driver.
December 15th, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
Get rid of the block M and outline the stripes in Maize and I would buy one
December 16th, 2011 at 10:15 AM ^
These should not be mentioned alongside those monstrocities (sp?) we wore in EL...To Mr. Brandon - Leave the home jersey alone and have fun with the away jersey, just don't get too carried away (see EL)
December 16th, 2011 at 10:35 AM ^
That picture just made my weekend.
December 17th, 2011 at 3:17 AM ^
It def needs moar maize...being to look like Penn State....and right now we don't wanna look like them...MOAR MAIZE!
December 17th, 2011 at 6:35 PM ^
Am I the only person who hates the font for the numbers? They are too round. They should use the font for the numbers on the home uniforms.
December 18th, 2011 at 1:00 AM ^
...this:
Which would be the away uniforms of Ohio U at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
