Suck on that MSU
AWESOME AWESOME game tonight by our boys on the ice! Shut those Spartan basterds up with that 5-1 win and I hope we destroy them again tomorrow night but MSU will definitely be going into tomorrow's game pissed off but if we jump ahead like how we did tonight we may very well pull off the sweep! Just the win I needed after the basketball game today. King Loui got it done again and for a while I thought he was going to get the hat trick! Hunwick has been amazing since replacing Hogan only 3 goals against so far in this tournament. He has been a beast! Looking forward to tomorrow night's game because we've got all the momentum right now! Look out people Michigan has woken up.

Even when they aren’t facing Michigan it makes me feel good when they lose.

But, we should wait until JLA before gloating at all. Still much work left to be done.
Addition: "U-M sports turnaround. Starting Now." -Seconded-
Take it FWIW, but I'm usually pretty good at predicting turnarounds. It's time.

ill forgive louie for not doing anything the entire year if he can keep it up long enough to get us in the tourney.

Knocking MSU out of the CCHA Tournament would give us at least some redemption for this season. MSU sucks.
It will put Sparty firmly on the NCAA bubble

Funny how a win gets everyone back on board.
I even switched from drinking antifreeze to rubbing alcohol. Things are looking up!

I just got back from Indy with the basketball band and one of my classmates said it best: "We are banking up so much karma we're going to go undefeated in everything for five years." Obviously a stretch, but this win heals some of the wounds from earlier today.
Now that I'm home instead of being in Indy at least another day, I plan on attending the hockey game at MSU Saturday night. Seems like we really filled up the place with some maize and blue faithful. Anyone else going?

On the Banks of the Red Cedar
Theres a joke thats know to all
It's specialty is losing
Where the Spartan eyes all ball
Spartan teams are always peaking
Even when they win they all fight
Fight their moms, dads and fans
Typical Green and White
Run right through M-S-U
Watch the losses growing
Spartan teams are bound to lose
When their own fans ring down BOOOOOOOOs
RAH RAH RAH
Michigan's dominating
They're going to win this game
FIGHT FIGHT EVERYONE FIGHTS
Sadness for M-S-U

The end of the song is always...
OH. NO. NOT-A-GAIN.
Another loss for MSU.

I once heard it as
Cows! Pigs!
Goats and sheep!
On the farm at M-S-U!

I was there tonight, it would've been even more tomb-like had 75% of those in attendance not been Michigan fans.
Every thing their band did, we drowned it out. "Let's Go Blue," "The Victors," everything.
That was glorious; we dominated in every facet of the game, controlled everything. That final score could've easily read 8 or 9-1.
I've never seen us destroy them in Munn like that--on the ice, or in the stands--and I loved every second of it.
Go freaking Blue; sweep!

A friend of mine at the game told me the same thing - sounds like it was amazing! I agree with the post earlier. The turn-around begins NOW!
March 12th, 2010 at 11:49 PM ^
...are out of state, we need you to reprise tonight's Munn Invasion. Help make March 13 "M Owns Munn II."
I was at the game tonight too and sat right next to the MSpoo studet section. Before the game started, they tried doing a "Lets go state" chant, but my friends and I replaced it with "lets go Blue". A douche bag spartan proceeded to come up to me and knock my hat off of my head. An "unbiased" police officer then proceeded to come up to me and told me to quit starting trouble. The ass whooping followed. After every goal we scored, I simply looked up and made eye contact with the idiot spartan and the cop...god that win felt so good!

Shut those Spartan basterds
Be careful about using Quentin Tarantino movies as guides for spelling.

Last one to buy tickets buys the drinks.
See you all at Munn tomorrow night.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
We keep this roll up, and I think it's time to dub Munn, "Yost North."
March 12th, 2010 at 11:58 PM ^
Someone has to make a giant sign.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:52 AM ^
Reminds me of the giant Yost East banner some students brought to the Joe back in 90

It's not just beating State- as well as keeping our own hopes alive for the NCAA's, if we win two of three and knock them out of the conference tourney, they're done for the year.
After losing tonight, they dropped to 16th in the Pairwise. Seeing that Niagara knocked out Bemidji, at most there will be 13 at large berths if there are no other conference tourney upsets. One more Michigan win= Sparty stays home
http://siouxsports.com/hockey/rankings/pwr/
national rankings don't mean jack in hockey. Pairwise is king. RPI, Head-to-Head, Record against Teams Under Consideration (TUC's), and Common Opponents are the major components here and essentially determine who will make it to the tournament.
http://www.uscho.com/FAQs/?data=pwrexplanation
EDIT: also, those RPI rankings listed at the NCAA website are several weeks out of date. I like the siouxsports site listed above for pairwise stuff, but uscho also does good stuff that's fairly up-to-date
I have no interest in them. That being said, I drink my coffee black. However, the headlines in the paper today put a little sugar in my day. Go Blue and beat those scoudrels again at Munn.
Can you just buy tickets at the door tonight?
