In a word...DAMN!!!

From Adam Schefter

4. Former Wolverines strike it rich:Take pride, Lloyd Carr: No draft class in college history has produced the type of contracts that Michigan's Class of 2007 has.

This summer alone, former first-round pick Leon Hall signed a four-year, $39 million extension with the Bengals; former second-round pick LaMarr Woodleysigned a six-year, $61.5 million extension with the Steelers; former second-round pick David Harris signed a four-year, $36 million extension with the Jets; former second-round pick Alan Branch signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Seahawks; and former fifth-round pickSteve Breaston signed a five-year, $20 million deal with the Chiefs.

All together, Michigan's draft class of 2007 earned $165.5 million worth of contracts this summer.

I think we have a few guys who will get drafted and go on to have NFL careers right now. But IMO, our next top 10 pick and NFL stud will be Taylor Lewan. If he puts on a few more pounds and curbs his penalties, he looks like a perfect NFL LT.

He's not that undersized, he's over 300 lbs and has very little bad weight.

For comparison:

MGoBlue Roster:  Mike Martin - 6'2" 304lb

Lions Roster: Ndamukong Suh - 6'4" 307lb, Nick Fairley - 6'3" 291lb.

Martin is a 4th year senior, and is at the age where putting on a few pounds a year is still realistic.  He's not undersized.

Yeah, but he hasn't had their level of production yet. If he has a Senior year like Fairley, he'll be a really high pick. JustinGoBlue is right, he'll be a workout warrior at the combine, but unless he has excellent production this year, he'll probably be relegated to the late 2nd/early 3rd round. That's still really awesome, but not top-10 level like Suh and Fairley.

Brings back the fond memories of the 06 defense. Couldn't have asked for a better, more exciting crew to watch every Saturday. Can't wait for Greg to get us back to those days

You do remember what happened against Ohio and USC, right?

It's time to make some new memories.  Michigan was extremely fortunate to get Greg Mattison to come back.  Hopefully, he will combine the strengths of the "old days" with the ability to defend the spread, and the ability to defend Ohio and USC.

If that happens, there could be a BCS Championship game in near future.

In hindsight, I don't think there is a more disappointing outcome I can think of than seeing Ron English take a team full of NFL stars and get outsmarted by Lane Kiffin.
