im going to talk to some people I know at CSG tomorrow to see if they are willing to help us in any way.  if there are any other student volunteers who want to help me champion this cause, shoot me an email at [email protected]

also shoot me an email if you have any other ideas about how we can make this a reality.  i'm certainly open to suggestions and to calibrating our strategy to make this work effectively.

cheers,

eddie.

I wish I'd read your post before I went out earlier, as I ran into a recent grad who I'm sure knows people on campus.

I know some other people similarly situated who I will float this to.

If I can figure out anything I can do to help, I'm in.

I fully support this idea to keep the pressure on the admin. Heck, if I could be there I would do the same.

The Student Section has been over-priced and taken for granted so I'm glad to see that they want to protest.  And since Brandon only noticed that the students were upset with him after they staged the "Fire Brandon" rally, it appears that protests are the only way to get noticed.  The UM students pay the highest price in the Big10 so telling them that they should suck it up and be there for the "troops" is a little insulting.

This reminds me of some of the UofM football games I have attended where people just sit on their hands the entire game waiting for a spark. It's then left to the student section to make some noise and get the other fans, and the team, fired up.

Best of luck guys, hope you can pull it off.

I'd encourage other fans to do this as well. I haven't made up my mind on attending the game yet, I haven't been to a night game yet so I kinda want to go. But skipping the first 5-10 minutes or even first quarter of the game is totally worth it.

It's the students' University. Without the $125,000++ from Students and endless Alumni $$ hit ups, there would be NO University, SO you have every right to complain. We already are a laughing stock nationally so what's it going to hurt? Your protest may only be a moral one, it may not change anything, but you will have your say and you will feel like you did something...and seriously, that is the American Way. We don't sit still, we don't wait around, we try something. We may fail, but we still keep trying. That is what I EXPECT University of Michigan students to do. You are the brightest bulbs on the trees...shine ON!

was at the hockey game earlier tonight (had to leave early for a meeting at school), and the vitriol aimed at brandon permeated the student section - resounding chants of 'fire dave' came often, particularly when ads played on the video board.  even more encouraging of my beleif that student fans would get behind this protest.

  • Demonstrations and boycotts are engrained in the Michigan DNA. Does anyone think that the University became great because it rolls over?

  • Boycott Kick Off, Cover Each Major Gate to Encourage Participation, Make Signs & Shirts, etc.

  • Secondly, send emails to the President and Regents.

  • Attend Regents Meetings

  • Most Importantly We Need To Know Their Position on All This! They are running for election/re-election and we have great power in our vote!!!!!!!

RePost & Post Everywhere - On Campus, Other Blogs, YouTube, etc.

for kickoff, then count me in. I will boycott kickoff (section 2, row 80), and so will the wife. If I was still a student I would boycott as well. We are going to be wearing Blue instead of Maize. P.S. When I was deployed to Iraq and I heard about war protests or rallies on the news, I didn't feel that America didn't support me and my fellow soldiers, I felt that they were unhappy with being at war and/or the administration.
