The Student Section Yesterday Was Fantastic - Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due

Submitted by mGrowOld on

Other than a few stray empty seats here or there (which has been explained as result of students moving down low) the student section yesterday was full.  They were (almost all) on time and they were loud as hell - even louder than usual I might add. They added more energy and electricity to the game than usual and created an insanely hostile and noisy environment for OSU to play in.  And, when the game ended, the rushed the field just like we used to do back in the day.

What a great, great day.  I have no voice left and my feet are sore from standing all day (there were no cries of "down in front" in section 3 yesterday) and I'm proud as hell of the players, the coaching staff and especially the students for all doing their part to Beat Ohio.

Job well done!

Kinda off topic, but student section related: they kept showing on TV, next to Lloyd Brady, a guy who looked like a shrubbery painted maize. What the heck was that guy supposed to be? Haha

The Big House absolutely rocked on TV.  I watched a bunch of CFB games Saturday and Friday, and it sounded louder and more intense than such vaunted venues as the Swamp, Autzen, and LSU stadium.

Can we put this theme to bed now about the Big House never being loud and intense?

About the maize pom-poms:  They looked awesome, both in The Game and in UTL.  The ocean of pulsating maize pom-poms really adds to the intesity and passion of the crowd.  I'm sure on paper it might have originally seemed like kind of a lame idea for a place like the Big House in B1G country, but they pass the test.  They need to be added to our arsenal for big games.
