Student section ticket question
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to order and maintain a Michigan football season ticket, a student must intend to register for enough credit hours to become at least a half-time student and maintain such registration for the entire Fall 2010 term. A half-time student is an undergraduate student registered for at least six credit hours, or a graduate student registered for at least four credit hours.
I guess you're going to have to wait one more year before you get student tickets. Of course, you could just find someone you know and buy student tickets off of them. You'll probably get a Michigan ID if you're going to take a class up here.

Pioneers >>>> River Rats
I can't comment on the merits of the two schools, but "Pioneer Pioneers" just sounds awful. Huron River Rats is at least original.
Two Nice Examples:

- Buffalo Bills which really are the Buffalo Buffalo's if you think about it.
the name of the school used to be ann arbor high school and they were the ann arbor pioneers. in the 70s they decided to add another high school and the name had to change, since it was no longer the only high school in town. they became pioneer high school and thus the pioneer pioneers. not saying the solution was creative, but no one decided from scratch to name them the pioneer pioneers.
Even further, Huron used to be the Huron High Hurons. So both schools were like that. Huron changed due to PC about using a Indian Tribe (EMU also used to be the Hurons). Now they are the only HS in Michigan to be called the River Rats.
The River Rats name used to be a derogatory term used by Pioneer students because Huron was A: on the river and B: built by a landfill. When they were changing the mascot name the students strongly suggested they take that name and the administration gave in.
Pretty cool and unique background story for a HS mascot name.

Do you get an ID? Just convince some foreigner to buy tickets and sell them at face value and you get student prices!

If you have any good connections or friends at UM, you'll be able to get student tickets for any game you'd like. Although the bigger games will be more expensive, obviously. If you aren't given an ID for your one class, then you should definitely try to obtain one. (Doesn't really matter if you look like the person on the ID, tbh.)
It's a shame you brought up this topic so late, because student ticket sales are over. Getting a current student that is uninterested in football (which is revolting, btw) to buy you tickets was probably your best option.
I've known a couple people that got student tickets with only being enrolled in 1 class for the Fall term. In fact, a guy I work with is taking just 1 class right now (winter term), and he qualified for student tickets for next season.
I would apply for tickets. The worst thing to happen is they turn you down.
since I've been around campus (7 years), but I know a former roommate got tickets and never enrolled in any classes in the fall. He was only enrolled in one class in Spring 2004. That was his last class at Michigan. He went to every game btw.
more. I was told by the AD that they check every student ticket. They could have been messing with me but I will take 4 grad credits to save my ticket. Then when the wife wants to stay home, I can sell my 3 season tickets and sit in the student section.
