Strangely Not OT: Lucky Charms
Anybody else at the game get a strange feeling when, in the 4th quarter with the game on the line, a day full of clouds lifted, the sun came out and huge rainbow appeared over the stadium? I KNOW the ND faithful took that as a sign that they were going to win the game. You know, rainbows, leprachauns, "they're magically delicious," four horsemen, Rudy, wind dies down, Lake Dawson, blah, blah, blah. So gald it didn't turn into another BS Notre Dame "legend."
The only legend out there Saturday was DR. Unbelievable performance, great win, Go Blue.

The ND announcers got really excited about it. Too bad it wasn't one of these:

The announcers were hoping it would go that direction. They were hoping they found their own pot of gold. Too bad.

I will say one positive about the announcers. While they are definitely heavily biased toward ND, they did pay homage time and again to Denard's talents, as did Mark May when old Lou implied something about ND that was pure crap as did Herby, who on several occasions this week, lauded Denard's talent. Herby also thought that Michigan's O had a lot more going for it than just Denard.

Don't forget the all of the homage they paid to James Mouton too. That guy kicked ass yesterday when he wasn't getting horse collared.

Lou Holtz is a lunatic.

crushed what was left of ND's mojo for ever and ever with the TD after the rainbow. Given the nature of the game that isn't real likely, but hey. . . I do think RichRod showed he's the better coach today, both in his play-calling and the post-game ints. Kelly is--for my money--just not as bright or interesting a guy.

We need to give Kelly some time before evaluating his skills as a coach. His situation is exactly the same as was RichRod's a couple of years ago. In another three or four years, we will be better able to judge just how good Kelly is as a coach. Kelly's record at Cincy with average or less talent was nothing short of remarkable.

The rainbow came out to signal that Denard was the Pot of gold at the end of it, which happened to be in the endzone.
