Still on commit watch? According to our newest commit we are & Jaylen Smith to ND -EDIT-

Submitted by ChuckWood on

"Michigan should be on the commit watch we have another one coming soon;)" - Maurice Hurst's twitter

EDIT: Side note, apparently Jaylen Smith commited to ND.  Unfortunate that we have to face him, fortunately it's not OSU.

EDIT 2: Tremendous said via twitter, "Michigan should definitely be on commitment watch in the next 48 hours." and Sarah Hughes says we will be very pleased.

It could be James Hendren (2014 OT, 6'7" 307 pounds, being looked at by USC, ND, Michigan, and the like) upon giving him an offer, so probably not committing today or anytime in the next few days (probably). Other than that I really have no clue, as Maurice is probably not our most recruiting-connected commit (unlike Shane, for example)

Wasn't hurst in that group chat with Morris, a few others, and Derrick Green a couple days ago. So maybe he is talking about Derrick Green. It would be nice

It could just be Hurst messing around with the UM fan base. However, we won't know until somthing happens if anything happens at that.

Yes true, but Dawson has been having a lot of fun with Fans with his tweeting and by the looks of it those two have become good friends. So, it is possible that Dawson told Hurst to do it and then Dawson would reply to it. So like I said he could be right about it OR just having a little fun.

Yes, but Sam Webb also said he thought Ty Isaac was going to choose UM. I'm not saying we won't but recruiting can changes in 1 day as we have seen many times. Also Webb is the ONLY person that said that, sorry but I'd like to have more opinions on something that just 1 person.

It can happen but stuff happens to fast in recruiting to be sure.

Edit: Looks like Tremendous on twitter is now saying the same thing. So looks like Hurst could have been right.

While you are right that Sam DID hint things looked good with TY, that all changed after Ty took his 2nd trip to USC. AFter that, Sam said it was a toss up but never said he had a GUT feeling that TY would end up blue. In fact, Sam turned more negative than optimistic.

That's simply not true. Earlier in the recruiting process Webb stated many times that he thought UM was the leader for Isaac, but he never came out and said that Isaac would commit to UM. There's a difference between him saying that Michigan leads for a prospect, and predicting he'll commit to us, and Sam is quite careful to make that distinction.

As for Webb's famous "gut feelings," he's made it clear that those occur after a recruit has privately told him that he's committing to Michigan, but needs to have it kept quiet until the formal public announcement. Even so, that doesn't mean that Webb never gets burned; 2010 safety recruit Sean Parker had told Webb he was going to sign with Michigan, and the decision seemed so certain that the GBW magazine issue on recruiting was going to be printed with a photo of Parker on the cover. On signing day, Parker pulls a switcheroo and signs with Washington, which led to mad scramble to redo the magazine cover at the last second.

Our commits come in pairs because you can't have one without the other.

My guess is Henry Poggi followed by Derrick Green, but I can't see Green committing before visiting again first.

I remember Sam Webb said "a couple of good things" coming to Michigan soon. We saw one today.

2-1=1 as fas as I remember. Sorry I don't have a calculator with me today.

Sarah Hughes should be on commitment watch because all the dudes want to marry her.

(into football + many men find her attractive)

I know people are saying Poggi or LT but I'm gonna make a small guess that it possible could be a certian RB named Derrick Green. Nothing to back it up just a guess.

it is probably not him.  Treadwell tweeted that he had a strong visit to Illinois today as they were selling him hard on playing for his home state.  Illinois now in his top 5 with Michigan.

Narrows it down to Poggi and Derrick Green most likely.
