Steelers going to release LaMarr Woodley

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Pittsburgh Steelers are going to release LaMarr Woodley this week. Woodley was a salary cap casualty as he was slated to make $8 million this season, and the Steelers have good depth at his position. He will probably end up being one of the top free agent pass rushers on the market this year. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Love Woodley as a Steelers and Wolverines fan. The cuts had to come from somewhere, and with Polamalu staying, the writing was on the wall.

I'll always remember his sack/fumble of Warner in the Super Bowl to seal #6.

Come on down to Jacksonville, where you'll be one of the 2 best players on the team simply by not having DUI's or broken bones.

Awful news, had my hopes up that the front office would restructure his contract like they did a lot of others this off season. Thought he was in the clear after Worilds was tagged. Looking forward to another 3rd place finish in the AFC North.

Don't know if the OP is a Steeler fan or not, would like to know about this "good depth", or if he just simply forgot the /s. Sad, disappointing evening.
