Stay Classy Buckeye Fans

Submitted by TNWolverine on

Buckeye fans are showing their class by criticizing Herbstreit for shaking a wounded warrior/Michigan fans hand.

@yoderman86: "@YNWAbuckeye: @Torg963 pic.twitter.com/aeNhHJib1y" #fakebuckeye” my bad for thanking some wounded warriors bud. How dare I?

My parents were at the game, and if the fight you're talking about was around section 40 then my parents were in that ruckus, as my mom get pushed down by a buckeye while trying to exit the stadium. Apparently plenty of Michigan fans saw what happened and promptly decked the perpetrator as he exited the stadium, luckily my mom only had a few cuts and bruises, but I probably wouldn't have held back if I was there.

thats all we have anymore..."Wait till next year"...how many more of these seasons would it take for you to realize Hoke is not the guy...just curious

Are you seriously asking, "then how would the team be" in regard to the potential loss of one player who hasn't played a single down of college football yet?  Yeah, I imagine we'd go 2-10 next year without Jabrill.  The program would be in ruins, eventually.

If you really feel this strongly about the need for Jabrill, I hope you are mentally prepared to lose him with or without Hoke, because that's a real possibility right now.

I'm going to seriously answer your question. I'll think Hoke is not the guy when the recruits of 2012 and 2013 completely flame out as juniors and seniors.  Not before.

Pardon my patience.

Also, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but nobody who matters gives a shit about what I think...and they don't care what you think either.

That should be the measuring stick, how Hoke's recruits do as upperclassmen.  Otherwise the logic is "Well, if they can't win with 10/14 scholarship OL having freshmen eligibility, they're just not good enough for Michigan!"

Our OL won't be mostly freshmen every year.

You are hilarious. If Michigan gets the two, you are singing a completely different tune right now.

Each year will get better from here on out. The offensive line is only going to get stronger and stronger. The depth will be there, some next year, but the right kind of depth by 2015. Next year, I'll be happy with 9 - 3. 2015, I'll be happy with 11 wins, and winning the Big 10. Recruits aren't stupid either. You see the kind of recruiting classes we're getting, and the guys we're pulling in. Peppers, Drake Harris, Damien Harris, George Campbell, Erik Swenson, and others are coming in, and I am positive this will only get stronger. The absolute worst thing in the world would be to make coaching changes now.

Because "the absolute worst thing in the world would be making coaching changes" is a quality point. No, it's hyperbole.

All of the things this person mention ignore the fact that Borges under performs. No one thinks the offense is gonna be worst. We could probably beat Ohio. What is clear is that Borges UNDERPERFORMS with the talent he has. And will single handedly waste downs and lose games because of this.

I think few people who wanna fire Borges don't think we'll field a solid team next year. We just know it won't compete close to the level it could compete at. Borges doesn't even recruit, he's just a lucky S.O.B. getting paid huge dollars to take excellent talent and field a mediocore unit.

I whole heartedly agree with you man.  I saw the potential that this young team has.  I love the direction that Brady Hoke is taking this program.  Patience is a virtue, not often excercised on this board.

The future is not bright, it's bleak.  We've been an average program for a long time.  What do you think is really going to change next year?  You think we are all of a sudden going to be world beaters because of a couple of freshmen (Peppers and Harris)?

Were still going to have a young and inexperienced offensive line that will be pushed around.  We will probably be worse on the line because we are going to lose our two senior offensive tackles.  One of them a first round draft choice.

At best, maybe we will field a functional line in 2015, maybe, and after watching these guys I have my doubts.  There defense maybe good next year, and that’s a maybe.  They at least showed some flashes of being good and we do have a good coordinator on defense.

The best thing we can hope for is a competent offensive coordinator.  9 wins is the ceiling for this team next year, at least in my opinion, and that does not include a win in Columbus.  We may be waiting decades for that one again.

I'm glad that Hoke and Brandon take a different tack than you do. The proof is in the eating of the pudding (or in the W-L record.) I am extremely optimistic, but we'll see a lot more after both the 2014 & 2015 campaigns. I fully expect 9 wins next year, and eleven in 2015, with strong seasons thereafter. Oh, and let me know if you're one of those jumping ship who want to let go of your season tickets.

The 2-pt conversion failed, so this staff sucks.  Just think, if only they had made that one play, then they would be awesome.

And anyone who can't go out and rip people to shreds for an entire season with 10/14 scholarship OL having freshmen eligibility, well...they should just be put against a wall and shot without mercy.

No excuses!

on both sides. A great football game on a beautiful day. They have a small percentage of "fans" that are major league idiots and that are the lowest class of the Big10.

The Ohio fans around us in section 15 near the top were completely inoffensive.  They looked to be steaming during the 'beat ohio' chant but didn't do more than high 5 each other after the int.

Saw part of that fight (section 41 I think). Didn't see how or why it started. I have to admit that the OSU fans around us (with the exception if one) were the classiest OSU fans I've had around me in many years. We were having the same experience on the golf course after the game. A few OSU fans in town for the first time said the stadium was amazing and commended Michigan fans for their class as well. Every fanbase has DBs. Stay classy and Go Blue

I posted above what my parents told me as they called from the stadium from the First Aid station after the game.

Apparently some dick buckeye was trying to get out of the stadium fast and pushed my mom over and she fell a few rows and cut herself, and plenty of Michigan fans saw what happened and a little fight broke out. I can't say I like that a fight broke out, but it seems like he might have gotten what he deserved.

It seems like most every fanbase has a contingent whose expectations for the behavior of their compatriots are both warped and unrealistic and these same people have a low tolerance for perceived unorthodxy, such as being a human being in the case of Herbstreit. It once again illustrates the idea that, if sports are this core to one's being, there is someone who needs to stay home for a game or two and read a book.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about OSU fans. And, the area around my seats were completely full of buckeyes. I was worried it was gonna be awful. But they were actually fine, and an older gentleman next to me was quite nice to share the game with. I was shocked.

I have had season tix since I was 2 (26 years) and I never had a visiting contingent be so prevalent around me. My dad and I were pretty anxious about it. But when the game started it was fine. Guess I got lucky. The older guy next to me even apologized for his player throwing a punch!
