Stauskas/Robinson Injury Update
http://www.umhoops.com/2013/11/27/glenn-robinson-iii-diagnosed-bone-bru…
Robinson's got a bone bruise in his back, Stauskas sprained his ankle officially.
Beilein says they'll know more today and couldn't comment on their availability Friday, or more importantly for Duke.

I can't believe how bad the past 6 weeks have been. You just knew that Robinson and stauskas would get hurt in the same game. The only positive is that the selection commitee will take our game with Charlotte at a grain of salt considering our injury troubles in that game.

I'm not sure the selection committee is going to remember that come March (especially given that Stauskas played to the end of the game).

we are looking at a 19-11 type year..when you look at the remaining schedule theres going to be a Blowout loss at Duke and alot of B10 road losses...Ive resigned myself to the fact that this year will not be very good BUT I can live with that after last year...

Not for nothing, but Duke should have lost to Vermont at home. They suck at defense. Like, GERG Borges kinds of sucking.

DUKE they will play their best game ever against Michigan and everything that can go wrong will go wrong...its what ALWAYS happens to UM when they play at Duke...just saying

I remember Michigan beating Duke a few times.
One time down there when they lost track of the largest man on the court.
Tractor Traylor off an out of bounds play for the layup and the win @ Duke.

If there is an area for worry it would be with Morgan (and Horford?) who seems to have regressed.
November 27th, 2013 at 5:20 PM ^
hes herky jerky turning the ball over and firing up alot of bricks..Morgan is frustrating..year 4 and he still has 2 left feet and hands..hes always fumbling the ball and missing bunnies..

LeVert didn't shoot well against ISU & FSU, but for the season he's 50% overall, 43.8% from 3, and is our 2nd leading scorer with 82 pts, behind Stauskas at 122, and ahead of GR3 with 71. He has 5 turnovers, tied for 4th on the team with GR3 & Morgan, Walton has 15 (!), Stauskas 9, McGary 6.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good rant. It's emo/hate week and rational thought isn't allowed.
We're doomed, worst teams ever, rabble/rabble.

There was a good rant? Anyway, football deserves to be ranted about; too early for b-ball.

get blown out here and there, but Duke is not guaranteed to be one of those games. As noted above, they were lucky to win their last game. What I do hope to see among the ups and downs of the season is progression and development of the team (no comment re. football).

I remember everyone mailing our tourney run in after the last couple weeks of the regular season and the Big Ten Tourney last year. It is November and things change.

Things aren't going perfectly after losing the Player of the Year? Who would have thunk that?!
It's going to be ok.

If this is a "19-11 year," I guarantee you that Michigan is going to be THE 19-11 team that everyone least wants to face in the tournament. It is taking time for new players to fit in and old players to adjust to new roles. This is almost like an entirely new team compared to last year.
Players who are new now will have a season of experience by tournament time. As long as they get in and avoid the dreaded 7 or 8 seed, this team should at least make the second weekend again.

you should stop being a bitch.
its pathetic and makes us look bad.
love,
jdon
ps. there are way too many bitches on this board right now... too many rookies, not enough pros!

"If either injury is long-term, it would be a significant blow for the Wolverines. Stauskas is currently playing 85.3 percent of available minutes and is also the team’s highest-usage player, finishing 23.6 percent of Michigan’s offensive possessions according to Kenpom."
I've been just now catching up on my basketball trackers, but I actually didn't think about just how much of the offense Stauskas has been until I saw this. As the article said, having Robinson in there as a stretch four has been a great asset as well. Hopefully, these two get some time to rest and heal and are back at it as soon as possible.

IMO the greatest benefit of GR3 playing 4 is that it gets McGary the 5.

Michigan fans are pessimistic about everything in general. I'm not one of them, but the general mindset seems to be, "We lost to Charlotte, so we'll lose 10-15 games this year. The same thing happened after PSU last year and before MSU a couple of years ago.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:09 PM ^
Are you referring to the MSU game that started our run of success? Because we were like 12-9 when we beat them the first time and 1-6 in conference or something like that. And then got crazy hot.
Because Beilein teams improve, rapidly.

Yeah, yeah, we get it............
Big Ten is weak,
Michigan is young,
Michigan has injuries,
Sick of excuses, just like football. I keep hearing about how weak the big ten is in football, yet, what's the record since 2008 against the big 10's top teams? 5-21!!!!! Great record against a weak conference. Here is the reality, darn near everyone on this board would rather have MSU success in football since 2008, and MSU success in basketball, period.
November 27th, 2013 at 6:53 PM ^
Without Stauskas, this team isn't going to be very fun to watch.... nor will it be very good. I very much hope it's not a bad sprain.
