I often make that comparison and wonder why Nick hasn't made himself comfortable in the NBA. He's bigger and more athletic than JJ.

JJ had the luxury of playing on the really good late 00s Orlando teams with Dwight Howard where he could just be a spot up shooter. Nik unfortunately has played on two awful teams.

This definitely hasn't helped. Also, JJ got his defense up to at least competent, which let him see the court more. Nik has some ways to go in that department, but if he can stay on the court more consistently he'll get more comfortable and probably shoot the ball better as a result.
