In-state Name to Watch: 2017 Running Back Allen Stritzinger (Warren De La Salle)

Submitted by Auerbach on

I don't normally create posts about individual recruits (we leave that to Ace), but I just watched Stritzinger's tape and its the most impressive film I've seen for an in-state RB prospect since...ever.

Max Preps has his 2014 Sophormore highlights available, which I don't know if its possible to embed:

Trieu is a fan, calling him "one of the midwest's best" for 2017:

Warren De La Salle RB Allen Stritzinger one of the Midwest's best in 2017. #MichiganState, #Michigan, etc interested: http://t.co/G4oZ84ambx

Here is Trieu's write-up on him, which includes this tidbit:

As a sophomore at Warren De La Salle this season, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, including a 175-yard, two touchdown game in the Pilots' state title win.

I searched the blog to see if there was any info on him, but all I found was this favorable mention from Ace in the last paragraph of his write up on this past season's Brother Rice v. De La Salle rivalry game (which Ace attended to watch Malzone):

By Ace - September 23rd, 2014

"De La Salle RB Allen Stritzinger (2017): I had no idea who Stritzinger was before the game, but it didn't take long to notice the 6'0", 178-pound sophomore, whose stat line of 78 yards and two TDs on 20 carries (3.9 YPC) belies how good he looked. Stritzinger seems to glide through the defense when he carries the ball, and while he runs upright, he fights through his fair share of tackles. He has nice juking ability in tight spaces, keeps his legs churning, and has more than enough speed to get to the edge.

Stritzinger also had a big reception out of the backfield, in which he made a very nice adjustment to a ball thrown a little behind him, called back due to an illegal motion penalty; on that play, he looked like a natural pass-catcher. He's definitely a prospect to keep an eye on."

I really hope Harbaugh and the staff make him a priority. He looks like a good one.

We're expecting highs of 37 and 35 degrees this weekend.

Buckle up because the last time we had highs of 37 and 35 degrees for a big recruiting weekend was February 19th and 20th, 2012. That weekend netted us 8(!) 4* commits.

Thanks for the update. By his senior year he should have a very nice offer sheet and looks in line to be rated a 4-star by most recruiting services. He might be a little undersized at 178 lbs but he was a 10th grader (i.e., 15/16 years old) in the film I posted in the OP. He should grow a bit by his senior year. I know I did.
