Standing Room Only Sucked!

Submitted by TSimpson77 on
Did anyone else have the worst idea and get the "Spirit Passes"? We thought we had good seats with a good view of the field on the Michigan side and even with no view of the Jumbo Screen, until people filed in then our beautiful view was squeezed to nothing. We moved around to watch the first half from the normal size jumbo screen and eventually ended up outside to watch the game on the big screens outside. Those tickets were a rip off and I hope Jerry Jones hears from a lot of people about how bad they are. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I totally disagree I have done standing room at a lot of events (tigers, red wings etc) and the standing sucks but other than that it is usually a blast! If it's any consolation watching that game was a "bad experience" for all UM fans...

It certainly sounds like it sucks when you read the description of it on paper.  In fact, the description translates into "this ticket sucks" in several forreign languages.

Sounds like the description is pretty accurate.  They pretty much tell you that you can't see the field.  You are paying to watch the game on TV, while standing.

I could never understand how anybody would fall for that scam.  Next up: Parking Lot tickets!!!

They cost less than the seats and you got in the stadium. We had spirit passes too, and got a good view of the field...when the people in seats in front of us were sitting at least. The only drawback was being in an area by a bunch of Bama fans that would not shut up. And obviously the game sucked and my feet hurt. But otherwise I was happy to get in the stadium.

We had great seats. About 30 yard line-15 rows from the field.

AAAND........they sucked too. Because the game sucked. Now I have to go to airport and face more abuse

The ones I was by were cocky as hell and would not shut up ever. They acted like they KNEw what was going on at every moment, and each controversial call that went bamas way they KNEW the refs got it right. Saying it was uncatchable, and practically mocking me when I thought it wasn't. Again they weren't mean, just really effing annoying. I just wish the game was competitive.

The Cowboys Stadium experience in general was awful. We had purchased a parking pass in advance for one of the Cowboys Stadium lots that were to open at noon, but since the lot had a SINGLE cashier that did not show up our crew of four cars weren't able to get in until 12:30 or so. Not a huge deal, but an easily solvable problem, by having multiple people you trust with money, or your workers show up on time.

In addition, after the game we had an event staff worker as we were exiting back to the parking lot tell us, completely unprompted, that it must have sucked watching our asses get kicked like that. Real classy Texas. On the other hand, not a single Bama fan talked trash to us or got in our face after the game. All very respectful people. Newfound respect for the Bama fanbase.

I'd say the crowd was pretty evenly split Bama & M fans, maybe 55-45 but nothing skewed heavilly to Bama - M represented well.  It sucked to have some Bama fans sprinkled into the Michigan SRO section, the ones around us were loud and unsufferable as M imploded in the first half.  I actually liked the Spirit pass option, you could get a beer easilly and it was fun to interact with the other fans around you and we saw the field enough.  It would have been a lot more enjoyable if M had played better.  GO BLUE!

The worst part?  Trying to flag a cab down after the game.  Event staff told us to go to one area, where there'd be "20 cabs all lined up for you."  Needless to say, it took us two hours to get a cab after the game, where we shared one with two nice and extremely complimentary Alabama fans.  Said we had nothing to be ashamed of, and that Michigan burned their secondary.  Will root for us, and they don't expect us to lose another game.

Not sure if serious, but you know.  :)
