Stale no more

Given that Jim Harbaugh is the closest thing to a modern Bo, and perhaps closest in kind to the old school Michigan offense that I and many faithful yearn the return to,  take note that Stanford is now averaging 40.0 pts/game, which is now MORE than our new era spread, of 36.6 pts/game.

Perhaps the numbers are skewed because Stanford's defense has been far superior and gives more time for the offense on the field.  Or, that our defense has been so bad that opponents have scored so quickly and given our spread offense extra time and opportunities. Or vice versa, I do not know.

Either way, somebody please chime in here and try to give the implications of both defenses and how it affects the numbers above.

Aren't all living Michigan Wolverine football fans part of the "OnlyLosingMGeneration"?

Since when does the older generation get to talk down to a younger generation that "has to deal with losing".   I am 35 and am dealing with losing... it sucks.   Probably sucks about the same as someone who is 20, or 70.

Your lack of unity and disrespect for the brotherhood of "all" Michigan fans is sad.

Stanford kicker Nate Whitaker has made 18 field goals this year. That's 54 points divided by 11 games, or 4.9 points per game on field goals. We have made four field goals -- that's 12 points divided by 11 games = 1.09 points per game.

Stanford is getting 3.81 points per game more than us on field goals alone, so even if you completely remove defense from the equation (which I think would mostly be a benefit via improved field position), that more than accounts for the scoring differential.

Awesome and can you explain how big bad harbaugh's power offense couldn't score shit on an average Oregon defense in the 2nd half after putting up 30+ in the first half?

Gents, posters like this are why I started the neg party thread last week.  We practiced and hopefully lowered our negging inhibitions.  Now this crusty old turd wants to stir up negativity during OSU week.  God speed with the negging gentlemen.
