St Pattys Day Drinking Thread

Submitted by JimLahey on
Frankly, I'm shocked that this hasn't been created yet. Ive been on pitchers of green coors light since about 9:30am. I'm all banged up and intend to stay this way until the wee hours of tomorrow morning. What are you folks up to?

Bragger.

If you have the good fortune to be day-drinking on a warm spring St. Patty's day (i.e. you're a student or a functioning alcoholic), you should not be wasting the day online blogging.

To clarify, I am a student. I figured there were many students on this site and thus it would make an appropriate thread. For those stuck at work, I hope to see you post later on this evening! Cheers.

I am not drinking yet, damn work, but I will be tonight. Having some guys come over and drinking green beer while hanging out. Since it is so nice out, may spend some time playing catch or something.

I hear you on the job.  It's hard as hell to work even part-time and go to school full-time.  Good luck to you.  Assuming all four of my grades break the way I'm 90% sure they will, I will be rocking a combined 3.8 all-science GPA after two quarters of supplemental classes at OSU.  Bring it on, Ohio State academics.  Bring it on.

I'm with you on that, also you mention "Old Milmakeyouwalkfunny".  It's interesting that most microbrew lovers have a totally different take on which domestic commercial brews are tolerable.  Old Milwaukee is one of the better ones, IMO.  Also like Stroh's, although it went downhill a bit after the family sold it & they moved out of DTW.

I can drink any of them, just hope it never comes to that.  We are LUCKY here in Michigan.

I picked up my mom at noon and took her down to the Gaelic League in Detroit for a pint of Guinness.  St. Patrick's Day is a holy day of obligation in my mom's house.

Although, today can't hold a candle to a good old-fashioned, traditional Irish wake.

DAMN U for bringing up the fact that I am at work and not blacked out by now.  I swore to myself today that I am taking a vacation day next year on St. Patricks Day and not putting up with this im drunk and ur not stuff anymore.  Thanks for making me punch a hole in the wall and I am counting down the hours till I leave.  I did however had a green beer before I got here, but not nearly enough to satisfy my thirst.

I just finished up my work day and cleared my schedule for tomorrow so that I can properly enjoy the occasion. After being out of the country for a week, I am looking forward to enjoying a fine domestic beer. Cheers to you all.

...drinking Guiness & Veuve Clicquot "Black Velvet" cocktails all day.  It's beginning to catch up to me though.  Might be time for nap.

but I did feel compelled to get a pint of Founders Centenial IPA at lunchtime.  It wasn't green.  It wasn't in a green glass.  And it was at a Mexican restaurant.  Still, I have no regrets.

Been making the rounds between my house on 5th, Conor O'Neills, and class on north campus all day long.

Guinness and Smithwick's of course, with some Bell's Two Hearted while chilling on the porch this afternoon.
