FWIW. Michigan doesn't seem inclined to get re-involved.
St Pattys Day Drinking Thread
i think most people who have the good fortune of being able to get drunk at 9:30 AM aren't posting on mgoblog.
they're, you know, drinking.
Class in Dennison...depressing? YUP.
Brought a 6-pack to work today. Getting my cube drunk on.
Are there are job openings where you work?
there will be
If you have the good fortune to be day-drinking on a warm spring St. Patty's day (i.e. you're a student or a functioning alcoholic), you should not be wasting the day online blogging.
you have to be a student/functioning alcoholic? How bout just a winner? Why about love?
where my boss is going to return from his meeting and make us all stay until we can safely surmise we did our best and are ready to sign off on the work we did today.
packer just called me from the bar to tell me about all the uggos.
To clarify, I am a student. I figured there were many students on this site and thus it would make an appropriate thread. For those stuck at work, I hope to see you post later on this evening! Cheers.
I am not drinking yet, damn work, but I will be tonight. Having some guys come over and drinking green beer while hanging out. Since it is so nice out, may spend some time playing catch or something.
It's my birthday and I have to work until 11...at a Brewery...then I indulge upon Raspberry Wheat, Blond Ale, Irish Ale, and some Amber Ale!
Party like it's 1999!!!!!!!111!!!1
That would be awesome working at a brewery. One day I would love to brew my own beer. I have a buddy that does it and has had some good brews.
Almost impossible to go back to drinking mass produced beer! I said almost. When in a pinch, nothing is better than Old Milmakeyouwalkfunny.
Yeah I hear ya. About the lowest I'll go is Bud Light or if need be Busch or something, but I prefer my craft brews for sure.
I haven't seen you too much around these parts lately. Did you get the gig with Teach for America? I finished my 20-credit hell quarter two days ago, and it feels gooooooood. On a day like today, we're all a little "green"...if you know what I mean.
Yea, I'm accepted. Still a lot of hoops and shit to do. Between bustin my ass at the brewery and TFA work, it drains all creative and motivational powers to do anything else. If all goes well, I am scheduled Detroit bound in 5 months.
I hear you on the job. It's hard as hell to work even part-time and go to school full-time. Good luck to you. Assuming all four of my grades break the way I'm 90% sure they will, I will be rocking a combined 3.8 all-science GPA after two quarters of supplemental classes at OSU. Bring it on, Ohio State academics. Bring it on.
I'm with you on that, also you mention "Old Milmakeyouwalkfunny". It's interesting that most microbrew lovers have a totally different take on which domestic commercial brews are tolerable. Old Milwaukee is one of the better ones, IMO. Also like Stroh's, although it went downhill a bit after the family sold it & they moved out of DTW.
I can drink any of them, just hope it never comes to that. We are LUCKY here in Michigan.
Liver goes on strike!
I picked up my mom at noon and took her down to the Gaelic League in Detroit for a pint of Guinness. St. Patrick's Day is a holy day of obligation in my mom's house.
Although, today can't hold a candle to a good old-fashioned, traditional Irish wake.
Patty is a diminuitive for Patricia.
Paddy is that for Patrick.
Also, shame on you if you are not listening to the Pogues today:
That's where the word "paddywagon" comes from too.
Dead Guy Ale in 22 oz bottles.
barfed. Started too early.
just hurled again. thought some food would help so i wolfed down a rueben and some wings at BW3, and a plate of nachos.
I'm in the last stall at the b dubs on 28th st in GR. I have $9 I can give you if you can help me. clean sweat pants would be appreciated. And a mop.
DAMN U for bringing up the fact that I am at work and not blacked out by now. I swore to myself today that I am taking a vacation day next year on St. Patricks Day and not putting up with this im drunk and ur not stuff anymore. Thanks for making me punch a hole in the wall and I am counting down the hours till I leave. I did however had a green beer before I got here, but not nearly enough to satisfy my thirst.
St. Patrick's Day next year is on a Saturday. No vacation day necessary, and also no class for students like myself to worry about!
Conway's Irish Ale
I got a damn cold for the second straight year, so swallowing is a real bitch and I can't taste anything. I hope you all have fun.
I just finished up my work day and cleared my schedule for tomorrow so that I can properly enjoy the occasion. After being out of the country for a week, I am looking forward to enjoying a fine domestic beer. Cheers to you all.
Watching some tournament games and drinking Sweetwater IPA. Life is good.
Did like 8 Irish Car Bombs. Sitting in my office with a killer hangover all day. Sux.....
I've gone down for a nap. Alarm is set for 645 and then it's off to the bars to strike out with the women. Ohh yeaaa.
I have a test at 6 pm and work in the morning.
in the middle of oklahoma. Didn't work out. Too much yelling watching games on my phone. Now at bar. Will stay.
Watching bball at home with a plethora of amber ales at my disposal. Brew Dog 5am Saint -> Bell's amber -> homebrew
but I did feel compelled to get a pint of Founders Centenial IPA at lunchtime. It wasn't green. It wasn't in a green glass. And it was at a Mexican restaurant. Still, I have no regrets.
I haven't started drinking quite yet, but I just saw this tweet by Mike Martin. I'm assuming this happened in one of the Mason Hall bathrooms.
I have a calc exam in 20 minutes...19 now
After i bomb this im getting more drunk than ive even been
Been making the rounds between my house on 5th, Conor O'Neills, and class on north campus all day long.
Guinness and Smithwick's of course, with some Bell's Two Hearted while chilling on the porch this afternoon.
